It's not a matter of opinion. Nico's throw tailed away from the bag, forcing Busch to stretch towards the 1st base foul line. He short armed it because he didn't want the runner to bowl him over.

I can acknowledge Nico didn’t make a great throw. But IMO had Busch went right to the bag and had Nico not had to try to hit a moving target, the play would have been made. Had Busch went to the bag, even though Nico’s throw wasn’t great, Busch would have time to adjust and make the play easier. And I also think had Busch went straight to the bag Nico makes a better throw.

You're just dead wrong here.

PCA deserves MVP should he not regress. Maybe the baseball writers don't like to give out back to back MVP awards but I have a hard time seeing Ohtani not winning it. Unless he were to get injured

Ohtani has already done that, with wins in 2021, 2023 and 2024.

Many guys have won back to back MVPs.

PCA is going to be added to that list in November 2026.

What am I dead wrong about? Was Busch out of position? Yes. Did Busch get his glove on the throw without it hitting the ground? Yes. Is it possible it is harder to hit a moving target instead of a guy standing in one spot when throwing the ball ? Yes.
I did say Nico could have made a better throw. Is that wrong? No.
I am not suggesting Nico is without blame. But so is Busch. He could have caught that ball, and if he went straight to the bag it would have been a much easier play.
What is dead wrong is suggesting another poster is dead wrong about something strictly because they don’t agree with you. It is an opinion and you and I don’t agree. Again, I have zero problem with that.

I think the problem is you are standing on that hill all by yourself. Even your argument that Busch was out of position seems like an unfair take. Wasn't he making a play on the ball off the bat and then had to reverse course in order to cover the bag? Saying he was "out of position" is like saying he was standing there with his thumb up his butt. I saw the play live and I saw the replays. Each time I saw it, I saw Nico's throw was off the mark. Actually, Derwood described it pretty accurately when he said it sailed away from the base.

Everyone can have an opinion, but opinions absolutely can be wrong.

Fine. I am done with this. The original point was Cabrera really didn’t do that poorly the inning he did give up a run. He gave up a hit on a ball that could have resulted in an out had it been played better, and then a stolen base and a weakass single on a ball with EV of 68mph.
