lol does this guy have the best left handed change/split in baseball history? what are these swings at pitches 2 feet outside and in the dirt?

Their bullpen is just insane . This guy is 5th in their depth chart and came into tonight striking out 50 % of hitters face , before striking out the side !

Didn’t get to watch the game but see the bullpen went 5 IP, 1BB, 1H. Outside of Pearson and Morgan, who are gone, looks like the pen might be settling in.

Also, hurray for this being the last late west coast game until August!

Man I'm so over these west coasters haha. It's killing me on EST.

“The Padres have suffered their worst home loss of the year”, Rick Sutcliffe probably.

Ha!  Yeah I love Sutt, but I can absolutely only take him in small doses.  Maybe a couple of innings before I have to mute that volume.

So much to dislike about last night's game. But, they somehow snatched victory. I think some guys need to sit down and look at some tape of the crap they are swinging at. The late Amaya at bat was probably the worst at bat of the night. Berti's throws from 3rd base don't bring me comfort.

Unpopular opinion but I love Sutcliffe, he's funny.  He's a meathead but he's our meathead

This might be the most unpopular opinion I've ever read.

He was one of the great Cub players from my childhood and then he had to ruin it by talking.

Really liked watching Shota fight through it against a good team and when he didn’t have his best stuff.

I just got back home the other day, but spent the first 3-4 weeks of the season in EST for work and I have no clue how you guys do it. Even the NCAA national championship game started at like 9

In my younger years, I was certainly a "night time" person. As I quickly exit my 30's and round third into my 40's, I'm no longer an "anything" person. I almost hope the Eagles are bad to avoid SNF and MNF games. Or hope they blow out their opponent.

Tuesdays are rough haha

Great win, clinches a .500 road trip, how great is it that the Cubs ended two steaks for the Padres?  I like it!  Question - have the Cubs been moved to the NL West and we didn't know about it?  Or, are they only allowed to play the Dodgers, Padres and Diamondbacks?  7 games vs. the Dodgers, WTF?

Didn't watch the game, appears Palencia was effective?  When given the chance hoping Little can throw strikes, when he does, he nearly un-hittable.

Palencia had control and was hitting 100

Good thing the Padres didn’t have the contact play in in the 10th. That guy on 3rd scores easily. For those who constantly complain when the Cubs get cut down at home, take note on what happened without using the contact play. With one out you have to have that play on, IMO. If you get thrown out 50% of the time it is still better odds than staying at 3rd and letting the next guy hit with 2 outs. Your odds of scoring there are way less than 50%.

I couldn't believe they didn't score.  I was actually getting ready for bed and had it on my phone.  When I saw where the ball was hit I assumed the game was tied.  Then I noticed a minute later it was still 2-1.  I would have thought that even if they weren't going on contact they had a chance of scoring.

I see in the latest MLB power rankings the Dodgers and Padres were ranked one and two and third wasn't even really that close.

So after today we will have played what right now is considered the two best teams in baseball in more than half of our overall games and still have two more left to play against the Dodgers before the end of this month.
