I see in the latest MLB power rankings the Dodgers and Padres were ranked one and two and third wasn't even really that close.

So after today we will have played what right now is considered the two best teams in baseball in more than half of our overall games and still have two more left to play against the Dodgers before the end of this month.

And the Cubs are 5-5 in these games, I doubt there's many other teams who could manage .500 against the Dodgers and Padres.

I couldn't believe they didn't score.  I was actually getting ready for bed and had it on my phone.  When I saw where the ball was hit I assumed the game was tied.  Then I noticed a minute later it was still 2-1.  I would have thought that even if they weren't going on contact they had a chance of scoring.

I don't think Shildt is that great of a manager. It's hard to believe they had Bochy and fired him.

I still can't believe they didn't score on that play. As soon as it came off the bat I was prepared for a tie.

I didn't watch the full game so I am surprised to hear that Shota was fighting through it. He was fantastic. That lineup is a killer to go through.

I'm glad they didn't take a chance with Tatis. I felt like that was an easy call to make.

You could tell that there were times that the control wasn't there, always. Three walks usually isn't Shota-esque - it tied his MLB career high and he'd only done it twice prior. But the cool thing with him is that even when he's a little off, he's still a guy you can trust to get you out of big moments. He's just got it.

And other than 2 “games” where the league did us dirty, we’ve done well so far.

It's always funny reading these threads the next day and not in the moment because they seem so incredibly reactionary even though the emotions are generally fine in the moment.

I'm not sure I agree that the runner would have scored if the contact play was on in the 10th.  The infield was in and Nico got to it quickly and would have had a solid shot at the runner at the plate.  It's not like PCA was on 3rd.

He scores easily. TBH, I couldn’t believe he didn’t score. The ball hit off Theilbar’s glove and rolled softly to Nico. There wouldn’t have even been a play. Pretty sure Boog even said it on the broadcast. Honestly, with one out and a guy at 3rd with the infield in, it should always be the play. The guy on 3rd was not as fast as PCA, but he was fast enough to steal 3rd. So my guess is he was a base clogger.

Wonder if Tucker is sleepy, hes been a little rough in right tonight

From what i've seen he's a bit overrated in RF.  His range seems below average, maybe average at best.  His running speed is rated below average and he doesn't seem to go back on the ball that well.  His hands seem fine.

PCA now leads the team in fwar and is tied with Edman and Donovan for 7th in position player rankings, 9th overall. Tied with Skenes.

Yeah, it's gonna take a lot more than 80 mil to lock him up, Jed.
