I’m not as down on Shaw as a lot of you but going into the season with a rookie with little experience playing 3rd and no fall back option was really stupid.

Yea maybe a little unfair, I've only seen his two worst AB's tonight.

His PA's can be pretty ugly. He had a nice walk that got called a strike-three and his single was on a two strike count. Both were fine.

Two strikeouts? Not so pretty. He's very up and down.

I don't know how you can't be excited about taking consecutive series against the Padres, Rangers and Dodgers. Those are all teams that are probably headed to the postseason.

Is that Pressly' first 3 up, 3 down inning of the year?  By the way, play Swanson just made, no way in hell Betts even sniffs that ball.

Padres are 13-3 and cubs beat them twice.

Great series, especially this game.  I know yesterday was the bombfest but tonight they traded runs back and forth, then tacked on an insurance run at the perfect time, and a great 1-2 punch out of the bullpen to win it.

Just a fantastic series win, very impressive, now, get at least one in San Diego.  Wouldn't surprise me if the Dodgers, for all the talent, don't repeat as World Series Champs, they're highly flawed defensively.  Defense, when you're not good at it, has a way of biting you in ass at the worst times.

Theyre an old team offensively, talented but baseball old.  12 of 14 hitters are 30 or older, injuries and wear n tear gonna catch up to them eventually

They went after Bregman for a reason, and they would have been complete fools to pass on teading Paredes (and everyone else) for Tucker.

Shaw has the goods, but we all knew he would need to adjust. However, this team's offense is also good enough to get by with him struggling in the short term.

If he still looks rough in June, then I'll be worried. For now, let him take his lumps and hope he has a 2024 PCA-like turnaround.

My same thoughts as well, plus their staff is awesome but, fragile, lots of potential arm problems baked in.
