Colin Rea takes his first start of the season agains the Dodgers on Sunday Night Baseball. Let's split this series, shall we?

How do we split a 3 game series?

Glasnow's actually been pretty bad to start the year.  I presume that won't keep up (it's likely rust after last year's injury?), but hopefully he has one more clunker before righting the ship.

Besides the Steele injury and what looks to be another black hole in the lineup at third until Shaw learns how to hit big league pitching (PCA too) they’ve looked encouraging so far.

All of these runs and a bloated run differential for a 10-7 record and 1 game in front of Milwaukee for first. Typical. I’ll take it with this schedule.

Rain out.

Probably a better chance of a tie than a rain out in LA. Like to see Rea go 4 and being Keller in for 3. Maybe they get lucky and steal a series in LA. That would be awesome.

Once again, lets see one or more of PCA, Shaw, Hoerner and Swanson get on, think they'll be able to have success on the bases vs. Glasnow.   In  all seriousness how do DH's get injured?  Seiya' the Cubs version of Teven Jenkins, made of glass.

Why is the 40 yr old with the sub-.600 OPS hitting 3rd?

Tucker is hitting 2nd which is basically modern 3 hitter, they don't want Tucker and Busch back to back to make them easy late inning matchups, and 25 PA this year notwithstanding Turner is the better hitter than the other RHH in the lineup.

Risky to play both catchers at same time

That's what I was curious about last night when Amaya came in

The Cubs really missed an opportunity to get Jesus Luzardo in the offseason.  The Phillies got him for what, the 4th best prospect and 21st best prospect in the system?  That's basically nothing compared to how good he is as a pitcher.

I'm sure that for a comparable package, the Marlins would have preferred to ship him out of the division.

Is it really that risky?  If Kelly were to get injured, Amaya would just switch from DH to Catcher.  That means the Cubs would lose their DH for the remainder of the game, but in this incredibly unlikely hypothetical scenario I don't really think that is much of a risk.

National broadcasters are going to go full national broadcasters tonight and remind everyone every chance they get that yesterday’s 16-0 loss was an anomaly and the Dodgers are still great.

Hearing Justin Steele is going to miss the year is just brutal to hear. Then PCA homers a minute later. Baseball just keeps on moving.

That the big risk with having your backup catcher as the DH, if the starter gets hurt early then you lose the DH, and the pitcher is hitting.
