What I recall is 51% of the offensive snaps

Yeah, >50% of the QB snaps, I think

Through week 5, he has 328 out of 330 snaps, for 99.39%

Was getting nervous after putting 100 on bears -1.5 when it went the other way but I did not see anything other outcome for this game than what happened

Nice job! I put $50 when it was a pick emseason 5 money GIF

It seems pretty mixed. They've got quite the civil war going.

He seems to cause that to happen a lot.

I just want to see him get 9 games so the Bears get a 4th rounder. Is it 9 games or 9 starts for Fields?

51% of the snaps is what I've heard. But I don't know if that's truly 51% or if it's "more than half". The original idea was Russ to start and a package of plays for Fields. Between that and the fact the Steelers were top 5 in plays run in the first 4 weeks (come back to the pack now), the 4th round pick is really close to a lock if Fields starts and finishes Week 7 healthy.

Lions are legit scary

All the teams in the North look scary in their own way, but yeah at their best Detroit looks pretty fearsome.  That said, Dallas kind of sucks this year so not the best gauge.

Logically should have been a popular Superbowl pick in the NFC. They probably should have made it last year and didn't lose anyone.

Of course, now they've lost Hutchinson to a really ugly leg injury. I'd imagine they'll go hard after any pass rushers that hit the market in the next couple weeks.

Checking out Tankathon to see who has the #1 pick so far. Cleveland and Carolina are 2 and 4, have to think Cleveland would take a QB at this point. Maybe they'll sign Flacco again next year. Carolina, I assume they're going to get Bryce back in the games at some point this year, especially since they are 1-3 with Dalton at the helm.

Spent the weekend in Minneapolis and all my friends say this about the Vikings: “we’re waiting for the other shoe to drop”

granted, as a fan base they’ve lived through enormous let downs, I was surprised to hear that

Defensively they're solid, Darnold has a big time regression coming so, I could see such logic.

It’s a shame the year the Bears are probably a fringe playoff contender given their talent and overall quality of play that they’re in the best division we’ve seen in football for some time.

still, I will not be unhappy if they end up 9-8ish and out of the playoffs if they continue this level of play and Caleb plays at this level.

bah, humbug.

  • Take two of the next three against Washington, AZ and NE.
  • Go 3-3 in the division games
  • Go 1-1 against the west coast teams

That's doable and ends up at 10-7.

This is my favorite Williams throw of the game.

Converting passes in the short field near the end zone gets so much harder as the defense compresses. To be a great QB in this league, you have to be able to convert in the extremely tight windows down there.

"No one is open" is not an excuse for legit great QBs.  Single coverage is open enough because you can always throw to leverage and give your guy a chance.

The coverage was pretty good, but Williams threw a perfectly timed dot to Allen's outside shoulder, away from the defender's leverage, and gave Allen a chance to make a sick spinning grab.

The Packers refuse to give me justification for my belief that they're mediocre so I probably have to let it go.

We will see how losing Hutchinson impacts their defense, but the Lions are probably the most complete team in the division. I'm still not a Darnold believer.

But the Vikings defense is as legit as it gets and is by far the scariest unit in the division.

I think we are probably tied with the Packers for being the worst team in the division, and that's with the caveat that I'm probably underrating the Packers. I'm not excited about any of our divisional games.

Yeah “no one is open” seems like the new “needs to set his feet.”  The greats don’t need any of that to succeed.

No matter how good the rest of the division is, it would be cool if this is the year the Bears figure out how to beat the Packers. What have they won, the last 10 meetings in a row or something?

Easily my favorite too. As I said at the time, in that situation I’m so used to thinking “agh it’s 3rd and goal from the 9, oh well at least we’ll get 3 here as long as they don’t throw an INT.”

Outside of a few times here and there, the Bears were locked out from being able to succeed in these situations. It’s an adjustment (a very fun adjustment) to realize that we have a QB that can beat you in just about every way possible.
