I’m absolutely not holding out hope for it but it would be really nice if Jordan Love sucked. It’s about time they got one QB who’s not a slam dunk hall of famer

Maybe I'll eat these words and they'll go on a run.  Maybe we'll 0-2 them yet again this season.

But gun to my head, I don't think the Packers look like a very good football team.  They look extremely average with the downside to be worse.  I think they get a lot of aura points for the jersey that makes us scared of them and pundits credit them, but if you swapped out the jersey and scouted their play, I don't think you'd come away impressed.

This is bad stat usage and I know it but I'm gonna do it anyway:

If Caleb Williams plays the rest of the season at his week 3-5 pace, he'd end up with 4103 passing yards

Save a few teams I’ve always felt like the Packers over perform and it drives me nuts.  But credit to the organization- they consistently get the wins one way or another.

That’s not “bad stat usage” that’s, in fact, excellent stat usage my friend

GB defense is looking pretty tough, especially when we have a clear weakness at various OL positions

They will move the ball and get some points. Will our offense be able to control the ball (run game) and put up some points without turning it over (GB has 12 takeaways in the first 4 games)

NFC North is insane

MIN 5-0

DET 3-1

CHI 3-2

GB 3-2

Gonna be a crazy tough division and the teams will probably beat each other up enough to affect wild card chances.

Caleb had a QBR of 84 today.  QBR is a bit of a black box, which sucks, but it does take rushing into account and does take context (i.e. Score, Down, and Distance) into account.

Average for a season is usually in the 50's, and the league leaders are typically in the 70's.

Trubisky never topped 70 as a rookie, and topped 80 six times as a sophomore.  Topped 80 two more times his 3rd year.

Fields never topped 80 as a rookie (Unless you count his two passes in his debut vs. the Rams).  He did it 3x as a sophomore, but mostly with his legs.  Most notably a 96 (!!!) in that game where he put up almost 200 yards rushing against the Dolphins.  He has not topped 80 in years 3 or 4 (so far).

I try not to get too up or too down on rookie performance, but Titans game aside it feels like Caleb's performing more like a guy in his second year not his first.  Considering how early it is that's extremely horsefeathering encouraging.

A few things still concern me about Caleb. He holds the ball too long a lot, he missed several wide open receivers early (seeing them, that is) , and he has too many WTF throws that aren’t anywhere near the target.

But damn he was really good today. And more importantly most of the issues listed above happened less & less as the game progressed. Keep getting better and stringing together performances like this and my Battered Bears Fan syndrome may be about cured.

Second week in a row he's lit up blitzes

He really has gotten better every week. We've never had a rookie adapt like this

I believe the issues above will soon disappear, I've seen hot takes regarding the superiority of the Loins, Vikings and Packers.  We'll here's one for the Bears - in time, Caleb will be the best QB in the NFC North.

The bad news is that was a jv squad out there.  The Panthers are bad when healthy and barely have any healthy players left.

The good news is that the magical Christmas land continues as we play the Jaguars, who have a terrible pass defense and have given up the third most points in the NFL

That’s fine. I’ll measure their performance today against how the Bears of recent years have looked against bad teams. For instance last year a home game against the Panthers resulted in an ugly ass 16-13 win

In time.... so like by week 15 or so?

I was thinking more towards the last quarter of the season, so week 15 would certainly qualify.

Fields is the same guy he was with the Bears. Fumbles, inaccurate throws, throwing into double coverage,  etc. I regret nothing.

But, but, but the coaching, granted the Caleb and the Bears took advantage of a banged up defense.  Fields is facing a far lesser version of the Cowboys defense and has done nothing.
