Helping me cope today is looking back at Allen and Tagavailoa's rooke seasons.

Tagavailoa threw for exactly 93 yards in his rookie debut and went sub-100 three times in 10 starts as a rookie.

Allen went 6-for-15 for 74 yards in relief in his NFL debut, and went sub-100 twice more in 12 starts.

Watson went 12/23 for 102 in his first.  And then ... Oh darn, I just remembered, Never mind.

On the replay that hit didnt even seem bad. He really needs to retire, like, yesterday.

Someone in his family needs to get to Tua and convince him football is simply not worth the long-term medical issues.

Yeah, he's gonna have CTE symptoms by 30 at this rate.  Poor bastard.

Tua gonna be eating jello through a straw before he’s 50. He should retire like tomorrow.

Tua’s family wants him to keep on playing, at least after his two bad ones in 2022. They aren’t smart.

I thought his mom was trying to get him to retire.

After this, I wouldn't want to be the person who urged him to continue playing only to watch him suffer CTE down the road.

It really sucks but I think he should hang it up.

Plus I'm pretty sure if you've had a series of concussions you are prone to more.  So this is unlikely to stop.

I'm pretty stunned he dove head first on that play.

Imagine how bad Damar Hamlin feels about it, even though it was a clean tackle.

I can't for the life of me understand why so many QBs fail to utilize the feet first slide. Maybe competitive instincts take over? I don't know. Tua is a great dude and I really want to see him do what's best for his health at this point.

Fields does the head first all the time too. I feel like every football team should have their rookie QBs go have lunch with Jim McMahon, maybe a crazy conversation with him would change their attitudes
