Steele waving off CC and yelling into his glove when CC comes out. Love the fire, hate the decision for my fantasy team as I needed the QS from him.

This game is just the Cubs season in a nutshell. Doesn't matter what we do, it's going to comeback to bite us. Steele doesn't get an obvious strike 3 call in the first > Tauch misses one in CF that PCA would've caught easily > Pitch count gets way up because of that flukey inning > soft contact leads to Steele being pulled in the 6th > Miller comes in > Brewers counter with Bauers (Soft base hit) and Turang (Crucial 50/50 check swing call goes against us) > Tie game.

And then there’s Morel who swings at anything and everything and misses

Jed needs to send Morel down.

Don’t forget the not scoring thing either. Can’t tell the story of the 2024 Cubs without it.

Prefacing this with I know Neris has been good lately, but I will never trust him on the mound and he just took about 3 minutes to give the Brewers the lead.

Don't forget the key point which is that the Cubs complete inability to either put runs on the board or hold leads with our pen leads to little things not going our way making such a dramatic difference in us winning or losing.

If the Cubs went out and scored 8 runs today during a Brewers bullpen game none of that matters nearly as much.

i've only been paying spotty attention to this team but the way they lose seems to be purposeful and for maximum heartbreak. nice job!

I know we don’t have much to sell, but this team is so bad/unlikeable/unwatchable that I wish they’d get rid of nearly everyone. And if you’re hungry, I do offer spaghetti with my meatball takes.

Yeah it's really not the 50/50 calls or the fluke hits or whatever that has done this team in. That's why the season is as long as it is, so that in theory those things even out and regress to a normal level. We're where we are because we have 2 excellent starting pitchers, a handful of good players, and a bunch of really bad performances on both sides of the ball.

Neris losing this for us would be the icing on the cake

Neris' value is not hinging on whether he is flawless over the next 7 days or not. He's a very well-known commodity. Not very valuable as-is, but enough for someone else to take on the risk of 2025.
