This team needs 1 run in 2 innings to….. hopefully get it to extras. It sounds like an impossible task with this team.

I really think Hoyer wants to copy the Rays in terms of spending and development. The biggest problem with that though is Hoyer is absolutely atrocious at his job.

It's honestly pretty simple. If Jed believes the Cubs are in on this year, he needs to get a pen arm and do it now. He cannot wait until it's closer to the deadline, at that point far too much damage will be done.  Before this weekend ends, someone like Tanner Scott needs to be wearing the Cub uniform. If not, then don't bother investing anything into this dead ass team.

this pen sucks so bad we were all acting like mark leiter’s worthless ass was mariano rivera for like 2 months. dude is as washed as all the rest of these duds.

Lot of mark leiter jr hate tonight. Dude has been solid. Everyone is just fed up with the team, it seems.

Cubs hit 96+ mph GB's for outs, opposition hits 75 mph fly balls for hits.  Rinse, repeat, every horsefeathers game.

The story of the small ball Cubs and 2 runs on 3 bunts was fun while it lasted.  Ron Coomer ate it up.  "If the Cubs play like this back at home, the fans are going to love it!". Actually, I think the fans might prefer to see some dingers.

Yeah that’s just never gonna happen with a Jed Hoyer team. He’s made it clear that he doesn’t operate with urgency and/or make moves that are a bad value in his mind.  I know you already know this, I suppose I’m just stating the obvious.

Plus I mean like come on the Cubs are not 1 bullpen arm away from being fixed. It’s sadly not even their biggest issue on the team arguably.

he was good to start the season but terrible lately. he now has a 4.44 era and 1.37 whip. he’s just a guy.

I had more fun watching the ‘22 team than this team. More fire and passion in ‘22 than this team. Much better bullpen too.

I said last week or so, this is far from the worst Cubs team I've followed, but they've probably been the most adept at consistently pissing me off. Just day after day of completely wasting a great run of starting pitching.

After a mildly encouraging 3-1 stretch involving 2 wins over a historically bad team, the Cubs have gone 2-5 since then.

Now 1-8 in their last 9 series. Broken team

Cubs have starting pitching,  that it..

Problem is, these guys get pulled after 6 or in the 7th and can't win these games

The funniest thing is that the Cubs offense started showing signs of life 1-2 weeks ago and the starting pitching immediately had a very rough stretch. Now the starting pitching is locking it down again and the offense has gone back to being putrid. Team can’t get out of its own way lmao

This Cubs team isn’t anywhere near competitive.  The only reason they aren’t 10 under is because they had their streak early in the season.  This is who they really are.

Why not go with more with Little and Hodges?  They, unlike, Neris and Leiter, have swing and miss stuff, I'll take my chances with the wildness.

The team already has too many outfielders but I think this team could stand to try Canario or Davis. Just try something. Can’t keep trotting out the same starting 9 every game and expect something to turn when it’s been almost 2 months of awful awful offense. Be aggressive. Try SOMETHING.

I’m sorry but I really do not like him.  It’s a struggle every time I see him pitch.
