Also, while this pitcher's ERA isn't good, check out who he's pitched against and look at the stuff.  Dude isn't some journeyman chump.

He also has some insane splits for whatever reason.   Through the 4th inning tonight:

Home: 27 IP, 2.33 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 3 HR

Road: 8.1 IP, 11.88 ERA, 1.92 WHIP, 5 HR

Bradley’s extremely talented and one of the better young pitchers in the game. This is kinda why I’m undecided on 2.0: it’s bleaker than ever for young people and the only people watching will revel in it with undue confidence

Doesn’t he have a career FIP near 5?

What the hell am I watching right now?

Baseball from 1924 I think.

I did enjoy PCA going first to third on the Gomes bunt.

I have to think this is some sort of a record. 3 pitches bunted fair in a row. I don’t think that could have ever happened before. But it worked.

I'm reliving the 80s, Small Ball is back

I honestly never ever seen 3 straight successful bunts in a row 😅

In a row?

Did PCA go first to third on that bunt and it go unnoticed by JD/Boog and whoever does the tv scoreboard?

TV announcer did say. Not sure if it was  Boog or JD.

Oh okay. I’m mostly distracted by my kids and half paying attention in the background.

Boog didn’t really comment on it. He just said Tauchman up with a runner on 3rd.

Yeah this is pretty much a carbon copy of the other 2 games in this series and really about 70% of all Cubs games since late April

Cubs pitchers are pitching in stressful situations like it's bases loaded no outs in every inning because of how bad the offense has been.

They pretty much need to be perfect with every pitch and have no wiggle room for mistakes even with a 2 run lead cause it could be all they get the rest of game.

Yep, lots of high stress innings, almost no margin for error.  Tough situation to be in every inning of every game.

I don’t know if Counsell is removing Steele on 93 pitches because of the bases loaded in that inning, but no two innings are ever the same. I think Justin deserves to start the 7th.  I can’t imagine he is going out for the 7th, though.

Steele ERA back down to 3.22, roughly where he has been in each of the last 2 years (3.18 and 3.06).  Probably jinxing this if he comes back out but he's allowed just 2 ER in his last 4 starts (covering 25 IP).  We'll tip toe around the part where he's allowed 6 additional unearned runs in those starts because dammit Seiya.
