How does a dude hit so many baseballs off of his foot?

He swings too fast and too early.

Yes, 8/9 and 8/10

Probably a good thing those games are after the trade deadline. Maybe the White Sox will be playing their 2024 draft picks in August.

Tauchman has to rank pretty high on best scrap-heap pickups in recent Cubs history. Boog tried to get "Captain Fullcount" going as a nickname for him early this season and I dig it. He's just a rock at the plate.

Fun fact: the Tauch-off came on a 69 mph bat swing lol, but with a 6.5 ft swing length. Thank Kopech for providing the velo to get a 100 EV off of that. Just absolutely perfectly placed into the short LCF.

Cubs win the Crosstown Cup for the 3rd consecutive year. They’ve now won it 7 times vs 8 for the White Sox.

Maybe the Cubs would have been swept by any other team in baseball but I don’t care a win is a horsefeathers win and we’ve been desperate for them so Go Cubs!

I definitely didn't think it was a home run based on the swing.  Like you said the velocity on the pitch really helped that one go over the fence

Seiya needs to be making catches like that. Difference between a DP getting you out of the inning and a big inning.

Why is Tauchman DH'ing and Suzuki in RF?  Should be the opposite.

Let me call Craig Counsell and ask him. Give me a second.

He saw it was a call from a Cubs supporter and immediately blocked me. 😞

Seiya's OPS for his career is 200 points lower as a DH.  A lot of guys famously hate it.

I famously hate watching him play RF lol.

13 career games as DH, could be classified as a sample size thing at this point.
