Tonight's attempt to avoid a fustercluck is brought to you by Ben Brown.
The Cubs face Freddy Peralta, whom Cody Bellinger has really only had some success off him.

Can we get a game where the opposition doesn't look like Cy Young for the first 75% of the game?
Can we get the offense moving towards "normalcy"?
Can we not be "no hit" through six?
Can this team stop giving me anxiety?
Can we win a friggin game already? I don't want to be under .500!

Earlier this year the Cubs got 3 runs in 5 innings off of Peralta. They also had 9 men reach Β base in those 5 innings. Peralta’s era is almost 4. I know they are sucking now, but Peralta is no more likely to dominate them than any other pitcher. That said, whether is it Peralta or Rea, right now the Cubs aren’t hitting anyone. So I don’t expect much. I just don’t feel that way because of Peralta.Β

I didn’t watch Sunday with Gray and I am going to pass on this one . Really don’t care what Peralta era is . Β This team is just brutal to watch .

They will hit better at some point , but if they continue to run the bases the way they are and playing bad defense , they will be selling come trade deadline . Β Good luck to those who will see this one . Β

one of the options for Cubs POM is Morel who has a .175 BA and .678 OPS in May.

Why wouldn't Imanaga be on that list ?

He would be the obvious choice

Freddy Peralta is on my fantasy team, so if there's any hope for this offense at all, that will wake them right the hell up.

If I had to guess he probably won the April award and they don’t want to give the same guy the award twice in a row

This would be a good time for the cubs to win a blowout game...

Any time is a good time to win a blowout gameπŸ˜€ I just don’t see that happening tonight. But hope they do!!

Definitely expecting to see the β€œno hit” banner show up on this one in about an hour.

Bellinger swinging at ball 4 at roughly the height of the C on his helmet to finish up Peralta striking out the side says it all about how things are going
