In a matchup of former Yankees, the Cubs send Jameson Taillon to the hill against Luis Severino, who apparently hasn't had his arm completely detach from his body yet.

Live look at the Cubs opening day roster:

This is probably the toughest game this series, but honestly isn't *that* scary.  I feel like all of these games are winnable, but at the same time Wednesday's the only game that feels like an absolute should win.  Feels like an obvious split.

I do not like 4-game series. Sweeps - nearly impossible, Winning the series - well, that extra game seems to make it really tough.  A split - meh (unless they lose 2 of the first 3).

Our current best offensive weapon was our fourth outfielder to start the year and it's a road series. I will absolutely be happy with a split.

Absolutely. Honestly even with everyone healthy there is nothing wrong with a split on the road against a decent team. And the Mets are a decent team.

With the uncertainty of the bats now, and seeing who the Mets have on the mound this series, a split would be huge this series.

The only game the Cubs would have a big advantage would be #4 on Thursday, so getting one or two🤞 of first three is what you're hoping for.

Hopefully can get back on track today. Mets are 2-5 lately, so they’ve sucked it up. Even had their very own blow out defeat, 0-10 against the Dodgers.

Cubs done lost their mojo.

Need a couple vets to step up in absence of Bellinger and Suzuki..

Nico cooled off in Boston, Happ hasn't done much since his 3 hit game in Arizona, Swanson hasn't done much since the first home stand, Gomes and Morel are MIA...

They've been hanging in there winning series with some good pitching, but eventually the bats gonna need to help out the pitching.

This is not really an ideal time for happ to have been pretty terrible for a couple weeks in a row now.

or, said differently, this would be a really nice time to have Ian Happ go on one of those stretches where he carries the offense by himself

Jameson has it going.

Hitters need to get off the schneid (been waiting too long to insert that one into a sentence).
