The only thing I can say in CCs defense is that we seem to pretty much have 2 surefire good relievers in Leiter and Alzolay. Everyone else is some degree of not fun (hopefully Keegan can be #3).

Absolutely agree with that. I just wonder if having good starting pitching and a shutdown bullpen made him look like a savant that he isn’t.

Not saying Counsell hasn't made moves that have backfired, but Madrigal would be starting 4 games a week if Ross was still here.

This was the inning to use Leiter. Gets lefties out at a high clip, much more reliable pitcher, potentially your highest leverage spot in the game.  I really don’t understand this horsefeathers from Counsell

Make it horsefeathers stop already. Seems like Counsell is basically punting this game by keeping Little in when he clearly has nothing. Tired pen and a day game tomorrow I suppose…
