There is also no other position in football or any other sport that has the importance of a football team's QB. The rest of a team can be mediocre and you will still have a good shot st the playoffs with a good QB.

For a season - absolutely.

For a single game - starting pitcher.

Yeah, that's the only one that comes close. Even then, a decent starter can be held up by a good bullpen or a good defense.

Slap whatever word on it you want, but Jordan Love is not "holding out".

The Packers ............... gets injured/significantly injured before a contract is finalized, he stands to lose a fair amount of money.

Would not be surprised if the extension is announced this week.

4 year extension signed today, so (non)"hold out" is over.

What other options did GB have? Now they have to hope for the best.

I hate to say I don’t think he’s Farve or Rodgers level, but he’s pretty pretty pretty good.

Yeah, that's where I come down.  If Jordan Love sucks, they'd be screwed for the next few years regardless.  Feels like they could have maybe took a slightly harder line and gotten the number down a bit, but he really had them over a barrel.

I love seeing all these clips of Fields lighting up Steelers' practices. We've seen it before, also with Mitch, then when it's game time that practice stud disappears. I have no beef with Fields, I want him to get enough snaps for the 6 to turn into a 4, but I do get a kick out of these narratives when we've seen them fall apart in the games

Come on.  Wilson hasn't even been practicing.  Why would he be standing next to Fields during a scrimage?  How could he KO Fields with a slap while Fields had his helmet on?  You can actually see Wilson in the background far away from the fight.  None of that made sense.

Yeah, that tweet is from a terribly unfunny parody account that for some reason seemed to gain a lot of visibility last season.

Not surprising given the person who texted it to me, and since I don't even have a Twitter account, I'm oblivious to all of that.

Pro Football Hall of Famer, Chicago native, and life-long Cubs fan Mary Levy is celebrating his 99th birthday today! 🥳

Fields' Steelers preseason debut. 5-for-6 but with two fumbled snaps (one probably on the C, one probably on him) and two sacks.  Steelers forums arguing over how much of the blame to put on him.

I know it's reflective of my various personality flaws that I'm still invested and amused by this, but I am invested and I am deeply amused.

JJ McCarthy threw a terrible INT on his first possession but came back and threw a ton of nice passes including a 45 yard TD and 33 yard TD. If he’s a thing, the NFC North is gonna be nuts over the next 5 years

Here's how the first round QBs did in their preseason debuts

#1 Caleb Williams: 4/7 95 yards , 1 rush 13 yards

#2 Jayden Daniels: 2/3 45 yards, 1 rush 3 yards TD

#3 Drake Maye: 2/3 19 yards

#8 Michael Penix Jr.: 9/16 104 yards

#10 J.J. McCarthy: 11/17 188 yards 2 TD 1 INT, 2 rush 18 yards

#12 Bo Nix: 15/21 125 yards 1 TD, 3 rush 17 yards
