Right, my point is the defense made up for it later. So those few runs in the first just evened out. Not saying he’s cooked or anything, but elite offenses don’t seem to have any trouble with him at this stage.

Fair. But elite offenses don’t have trouble with many #4 starters. And that’s what he is. And not getting low strikes is never going to be good for him.

BTW that Ohtani flyout in the 8th inning that ended up being a harmless routine flyout was hit 110 MPH with an xBA of .910

How was Ohtani's first ever game at Wrigley Field?

Ohtani's exit velo and xBA for his batted balls today:

106.1 mph  .900 xBA (Double)

83.1 mph, .100 xBA (Groundout)

105.2 mph, .870 xBA (HR in 30/30 parks)

99.2 mph, .600 xBA (Lineout)

110.2 mph, .910 xBA (Lineout)

In what is probably the hardest two week stretch of the season this was the also the most lopsided pitching matchup out of our favor and the team still put up 9 runs.  This offense might be a big problem for the rest of the league.
