There’s not much to complain about today.  Some nitpicky stuff, and yes, Fields could’ve made a few better throws. But overall it was a really solid game.  Feels pretty good.

I hate to say it, but I think Eberflus is pretty safe unless they completely implode over the last 4. The Bears are one final 5 minute collapse against the Lions away from winning 4 in a row.

I don't want to pay Johnson #1 money but this defense can win games, I dont want to dream too big but this defense would be elite with a better 3T.

Our own pick is down to 7th.

With Arizona still on the schedule and a very mediocre Atlanta team, I'm not sure they stay in the top 10.

I'm not joking when I say I know it's extremely unlikely but I don't think running the table is completely impossible.

Of course so is losing out. There's a ton of mediocrity in the NFL and we are part of it.

Fields didn’t show me anything today that would sway me from keeping the 1st overall and drafting Williams or Maye, sorry to say

I can say the same thing about Williams/Maye. Sucks that the Bears will have the #1 pick and only Williams/Maye to pick from. Blah.

Oh and....Bears have now won TWO GAMES IN A ROW. First time under Flux (not counting preseason).

While I'd agree, the Bears have won 3 of 4 and if they win 3 of the final 4, I have a hard time believing a lot of change is coming following a 6-2 run to end the year.

That’s why you don’t fire the coach after the poor start to the season. Give Poles some credit.

If there was a way to demote him to full time Defensive Coordinator and give the Head Coaching duties to someone else, I would.

as it is, I’m still for firing him for any result short of them ripping off 4 more straight wins and getting a wild card berth.

Give him credit for what? 2 drafts and 2 off-seasons and maybe 7 wins?

This whole thing should be blown up.

If they finish 7-10 or 8-9, I think Eberflus stays. I don't agree with it, but the McCaskey's are extremely conservative and they'll point to the improvement of going from 3 wins in 2022 to 7 or 8 in 2023.

But, Bears.

No way they fire anyone if they end the season with a good run.

Poles shouldn't be fired. He was rightly trying to lose last year and he’s made more than his share of good moves. The trade of the #1 pick was a steal. Not firing Eberflus when everyone said he should early on was the correct move. The team has held together and is playing about as well as their talent indicates.

Yeah I've definitely had some skepticism of Poles and disagreed with things he's done but I never really thought he should be axed after this season.  I know not all agree, I just hate the idea of switching FO's every 2 seasons.  His plan needs to turn around quickly though, like next year.  You could probably also sell me on no having confidence in him picking the right QB moving forward given what hes done to develop Fields.

Poles, Getsy et. al. didn't create Fields' flaws nor can they or anyone else coach his flaws out of him.  Best thing they can do is put him in a position to succeed.

He’s given Fields a decent line, a legit #1 Pro Bowl WR, a stable of decent RBs, and a TE who could be a Pro Bowler. Getsy isn’t great, but Fields has only improved on his strengths, but not his weaknesses.

I knew it!  Exactly what I said at the time, they had no intention of snapping it until they jumped.  Hilarious.
