Week 1 - Packers @ Bears - Soldier Field - September 10th 3:25PM

I mean, this could all go sideways, of course, but I really think Fields has a Josh Allen ascendancy.

3700 yards passing

35 TDs/13 INTs

1,000 yards rushing (1068 to be exact)

Passer rating: 107

8.3 sack %

65% completion percentage. (Allen had a worse completion percentage than Fields in his 2nd year, a fantastic one in his third year, far above what he's done since. If Fields improves it at the rate Allen did, it would have been +70%.

That's my high end prediction. I think it's very possible and if it happens, the Bears will win 12 games, easy.

Not sure if its relevant to the Bears yet, but Kelce reportedly hyper-extended his knee in practice today.  They are not ruling him out on Thursday yet, but to me that seems like a couple week injury and the Bears and Chiefs play week 3.  Not sure if we get past the Chiefs in Kansas City even without Kelce but it certainly helps if he doesn't play.

No, this doesn't at all sound like a predatory loan: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/38335229/florida-legislator-says-bears-dt-gervon-dexter-nil-deal-violated-law

TLDR: Dexter signed an NIL deal with an investment capital company, "Big League Advance", where they agreed to pay him just under 500k in exchange for his likeness rights that year, but they included a clause later in the contract that Dexter would owe them 15% of all NFL earnings over the next 25 years in exchange.

They call them loans, but they're literally just selling a piece of himself. I wouldn't have a huge objection to the concept if they were regulated to prevent extremely one-sided deals

College and pro sports leagues will stamp it out, they don't like competitors for their monopoly on exploiting young athletes.

I think said regulations exist and are being used as the grounds for his claim.

For the first time in 23 years I’m going without Sunday ticket. I already spend too much on entertainment/media, but I also coach two hockey teams and am out and about most Sundays. I’ve recorded games but then just fast forward to the scoring plays, so that’s kind of pointless.
I should be home just after kickoff this Sunday and will be able to watch on local tv. And there’s plenty more primetime games. Looking at schedule I don’t see a single game I’d be home on my couch and unable to watch.

haven’t watched the cubs either this year and that’s working out great. Let’s see how this works.

Same-ish. First year I've had it, but I shared it with a buddy of mine. On YouTube TV, you can watch up to 2 TVs at the same time, so hopefully there's no issues

Obviously different when you live in the market your favorite team plays is, but I'm more than satisfied with every Bears game plus Red Zone channel.  It gives me everything I need.

I couldn’t imagine being the weirdo in market fan with red zone. I got it because I’ve lived in NY/NJ. I don’t even watch non-bears primetime games.

I have the NFL+ app, which this year has Red Zone. So I will use that and try to catch the Bears over the air without cable.

Watson out and Doubs is questionable it will be really depressing if we can’t handle their offense

Yeah I just read about Watson.  Expecting a steady diet of running and outlet pass / screens.

As badly as I like to see Fields take a step forward and, finally, be a good NFL QB.  It's hard not be discouraged by his performance against the Bills, saw the same old stuff from him, the yips on the short throws, holding on to ball too long, etc.  Think the line will be much improved, he's got a far better receivers room than last years, he's out of excuses, time for him to put up or shut up.

Everything I've read says you can watch up to 3 streams at the same time on one You Tube TV account.

It's unlimited in the home of the account owner if you pay $10 per month extra for 4K content

That's good to know. I just got the sports package on DirecTV, so I now have NFL Redzone to go with my regional football games. That should satisfy me for this winter while I wait for the fiber optic to finish installing.
