I like to think that Ohtani was just about to touchdown in Toronto to sign his contract, saw the Morosi tweet, grabbed the yoke of the play, physically took over the flight and then decided that he won't sign now because it leaked.

He did say that Ohtani was traveling to Toronto today, not that he was en route so I guess he could be leaving later on lol

Yeah, this has gone off the rails.  Not his fault by any means, but the secrecy has definitely contributed to the absolute looniness of the whole process.
