Just watched Heyman on mlb network. He said he’s talked to a few executives from the “5 remaining teams” and some of them believe he chose the Jays. He also said he has no idea what is leading them to that assumption. Speculated they might know something. Speculated they could just be reading twitter too.

Jed said that to throw people off and stay off the radar.

Kind of funny to go from playing in one of the most competitive divisions in baseball to another one of the most competitive divisions in baseball.  He'll get to the playoffs with Toronto but not exactly maximizing his chances of winning a title IMO.

For a guy who didn’t want a rollercoaster, Ohtani is certainly getting one.

I doubt he's paying any attention to the media. We are getting the ride. He's at Nobu

Never thought the Cubs were a realistic option, just glad it wasn't the Dodgers screw them.

The problem with it not being the Dodgers is now the Dodgers become bigger threats to everything thr Cubs may want to do. If the Cubs really wanted JD Martinez, pretty sure the Dodgers could beat them out. Or the Dodgers now go in on Glasnow. Again, more competition. Yamamoto, the other Japanese pitcher, ext…. Dodgers are competition.

The Dodgers rotation is a bunch of sophomores and rehabbers, they are competition on pitching regardless of what Ohtani does

He's relishing all this attention.  He can't get enough of it.  From the dogs name, to the hiding out and having covert meetings, to threatening teams not to choose them if they talk.  It's narcissistic if you ask me.  Extreme self involvement.

I also don't believe the Cubs are a realistic option for Yamamoto.

True but they would have $55M less a year to work with.

I don’t think he’s aware of 95% of what’s going on right now. He’s meeting with teams and his agent and doing what he thinks he needs to do to get the best deal with the right team.

my conspiracy theory is that the blue jays floated the bichette trade rumors to make it seem like no way in hell would they be in on the $600m man, letting them negotiate in anonymity
