I will be glad when this is done whether it's the Cubs or not!

Agreed. Happy it is over or overjoyed they won the bidding! But difference in degree of happy😅

Someone posted on Twitter that his agent announced he was signing with the Angels on 12/8/17.

Sure enough, I looked it up and that is correct. Wouldn't be surprised if it does happen today then.

NGL I already convinced myself the Cubs had little-to-no shot at Ohtani. So I'm glad it's coming to an end.

I work 3rd shift and hate the idea of having it be resolved while I’m sleeping. I want to be awake when the news breaks…

Time to dream for a miracle.

Same here.

It might be the BJ's, but that Twitter account saying it isn't common to see flights go from Anaheim (a place full of megamillionaires) to Toronto (another place full of megamillionaires) is laughably naive.

maybe drake is just headed home for the holidays

With everything that's been said about Ohtani, with him wanting to win and being a guy devoted to his method and not liking to change it, I have doubts he'd join the Bluejays in the toughest division in baseball in a new country but im no insider.

“In a new country” can’t have much meaning for a guy already coming from another continent when that “new country” is basically upstate New York.

Yeah that would be like an American soccer player going to play in Germany for a few years and then going to play in the Netherlands or something.

i understand toronto being attractive to him, but in that division, he could easily be missing the playoffs again

Multiple times. But he also seems to relish the challenge. The Blue Jays are a great fit for him.

I think Toronto is a pretty great fit all around, other then being in a really tough division. But wanting to "win" isn't very specific. He'll probably win a lot in Toronto even if it's tougher to make the playoffs. He'll also be the sports hero for two whole countries. I think it's pretty attractive.

For some reason I can't embed the pic but there is also this going around X:

SOURCE: Yusei Kikuchi reserves entire upscale sushi restaurant near Rogers Centre for tonight. Reservation made for 50+ people. Make of it what you will…

I have it on good authority that someone just reserved a table at Byron's Hot Dogs.

If it is the Blue Jays, curious what they do in LF.  They are really sad in the outfield behind Springer and Varsho, and I'd think Ohtani on top of their current payroll commitments would mostly tap them out.  Something like Canario for Pearson and Biggio would make sense in both directions.

Summarizing for those who might be curious but can't/won't watch the video:

- The jet making that flight is the same model that Shohei has been seen flying on social media before

- The jet was previously in Oakland(timing the rumored visit with the Giants) and Hawaii(where apparently his girlfriend lives?)

- Today is the Japanese day of luck and the day Shohei signed with the Angels

Lol dodgers if they don’t get him

On the other hand Jays fans are been extremely annoying and making fun of Cubs fans , so I don’t like he chose them . Would have like it if he had stayed in Ana .
