Hell of a game from Dansby. Really did not expect him to hit the ground running; thought the opposite actually. Would be great if he rediscovered his flyball stroke to close out the season.

That Seiya robbery was fantastic. He ran a great route, I thought that was gone. It would have been a crushing, deflating, blow, to Hendricks excellent night.

How do you find out about autograph sessions?  I'm a Season Ticket  holder and nobody has ever given me information about any of them.

I'm actually not a season ticket holder. My brothers, father in law is and he always notifies us when he gives us tickets. I'll ask him for you

Cubs are quietly within 4.5 games of the Wild Card in the NL, as the Reds, Phillies, Marlins, Giants and Diamondbacks all have effectively the same record now.

Cubs won't catch the Braves or Dodgers, but nobody else in the NL seems all that much better than the Cubs this season.

Still, they'd need to get a few games clear of .500 before really being considered a playoff contender.

Like I was saying earlier, if they can win tomorrow and then take 3 out of 4 from the Cardinals, they would be a game over .500 coming up to the trade deadline.  More importantly, they would probably be less than 5 games back in the division and even closer to the Wild Card (although behind more teams).  That would start to make things really interesting.

That's a little cart before the horse though, because winning 4 out of the next 5 to get to that point is far from a likely outcome.

Here's a pretty useless stat/observation from tonight's game:

Cody Bellinger was 0 for 5 with 2 Ks. Not good. But, in 5 plate appearances, he saw 33 pitches, 30 in the first 4 ABs.  The Sox pitchers only threw 160 total pitches.  So Belly saw about 20% of the pitches.

Just found it interesting.

I only saw one AB of his but he went up 3-0 then declined to swing at a pitch he could've hit to Jupiter. He ended up with an ugly looking K. The sizzling hot streak may be ending. Luckily, Nico is picking it back up and Dansby looks great.

Diamondbacks and Giants both win close games meaning the Cubs do not gain any ground in the WC tonight but do pull within 6 in the division with the Brewers loss. Unlike last night when every single WC contender playing lost, today every WC contender playing won except the Marlins (Reds, Giants, DBacks, Phillies, Padres sort of)
