I'm actually kind of shocked out how many meatheads on the radio are all about the WSox bringing back Ozzie. It's a meme level terrible idea and yet a seemingly large amount of people are all about it.

Awful. Wasn't he one of the guys who broke out of the bubble to go party in 2020? Completely different issues but would speak to the lack of character and consideration for others' wellbeing.

Yes, he and Zach Plesac, and Clevinger was traded shortly thereafter too.

Geez, I just saw the pictures the victim posted on social media and horsefeathers. If true (and pretty sure it is), I hope he never plays again.

There is a free YouTube documentary being released over the next 3 days called "Last Comiskey" that is pretty cool. Detailing Comiskey Park and particularly the last season.

Obviously we're Cubs fans, but I didn't mind the Sox through the 90s. I went to multiple games at Old Comiskey and remember its charm...not to Wrigley's degree but it was a cool ballpark. The last game I went to in that final season I distinctly remember 2 things: it was snowing during the game, and Sammy Sosa was playing RF for the Sox. Thought I'd share in case anyone else has fond memories of going there.

didnt old Comiskey have some kind of area in left field that was open to the public w/o tickets? A friend of mine who is a WS fan claims there was way back in the day, and he seems to think it was nearly at field level

eta: the Picnic area, and it appears to actually be right field:

I loved old Comiskey Park. They use to let people in as vendors and they’d set up tables in the concourse. You could get almost anything and it wasn’t the horsefeathers food served at ballparks today.

I mean, you're kinda asking for this to happen the second you choose to play this song. Instant club-clearer:

is there no security at that stadium? I mean, that goes on for a couple minutes and the only stadium personnel seems to be the woman in the red shirt who wisely just walks away.

My guess is that anyone who has done security long enough knows you just have to get out of the way as soon as you hear "Knuck If You Buck."

Speaking of great music choices by the white sox, how about Clevinger coming out to Golddigger after everything that went on this offseason. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we end up with something happening on our team (looking at you Stroman, and maybe Hayden), but nice to not have had something like this for a little while.

Hayden and Stroman walk out to music by Richard Wagner.

I didn't mean so much 'super offensive walk out music' as I meant 'being a huge horsefeathers'

Is that bad because Wagner was a socialist and was exiled for being against the monarchy? What someone else did with his music 60 years after his death shouldn't be held against him.

(of course, I could be completely blanking on something else about Wagner I should be remembering)

Noting this is the first I've ever heard of any of this, his Wikipedia page says Wagner wrote publicly anti-Semitic stuff in the late 1800s.

Ah - no wonder the Nazis liked him even though he was a socialist.

the sox really make me appreciate the cubs rebuild, even with the 3 years of tanking

And with one of the worst farms in baseball.  They probably ought to put damn near their entire rotation, including Cease, out there at the deadline.
