I'd love to see DePaul give a big fat horsefeathers you to the NCAA and the Big East by hiring Rick Pitino. He'll cheat his balls off and so the horsefeathers what? At least he'll be transparent about it, unlike those dick-less pricks Sean Miller, Bill Self, etc., it will be fun and the Blue Demons will win. Of course DePaul doesn't have the nerve to do such a thing but, it would be fun.

I actually thought UNLV should hire him. Mostly because Pitino reminds me of Tarkanian

UNLV also makes sense but, DePaul is a Catholic school which may be factor for reported devout Catholic Rick Pitino.

I guess Hoiberg just had the normal flu, and got cleared to coach the next game. But I guess "will the tournament get canceled" jumped from +220 to -120 pretty quickly this morning. Going to be super weird if they even play. Probably the right decision to call it off, but it makes my Vegas trip next week a whole lot harder to justify to the wife (and 4 month old kid).

They should lower it to 64 teams, move the schedule up to start this Saturday if possible. If still able run, games Tuesday-Sunday next week and you're down to 4. If things have gotten worse, you do that Final 4 whenver.

That's actually not a bad idea. I would make the 4 cuts at large teams though. Sorry Indiana. (not sorry)

Just about every conference tournament was just cancelled. Also the NCAA selection committee hasnt even started the selection process which usually begins yesterday. Pretty certain at this point the tournament is cancelled.

 

I would love if they at least posted some kind of bracket. I spent months following bracketology on twitter and would get into that kind of stuff. Would hate for there not to be a conclusion to all of that.

 

Of course thats the 5 millionth most upsetting thing about coronavirus, not trying to minimize anything else.

that we will. selfishly this sucks because the tournament is easily my favorite sporting event each year and have been looking forward to this for awhile. Again, in the grand scheme of things that is so unimportant, and i understand and agree with the decision to cancel everything, assuming it is, but it suuuuucks on a smaller scale that this is happening.

that we will. selfishly this sucks because the tournament is easily my favorite sporting event each year and have been looking forward to this for awhile. Again, in the grand scheme of things that is so unimportant, and i understand and agree with the decision to cancel everything, assuming it is, but it suuuuucks on a smaller scale that this is happening.

 

My thoughts are the same. It’s 100% the right thing to do but boy am I going to miss watching basketball next Thursday and Friday.

The company I work for operates restaurants and concessions in airports, sports venues, casinos and National Parks around the world. They are in full freak out mode right now, sending random emails out detailing how VPs of airlines are "voluntarily" taking pay cuts during the crisis. I worry about our bartenders, servers, cooks, etc that are about to be laid off, or at best, make jack horsefeathers for money.

What about the money, money, money? Plenty of entities make untold millions off the tournament.

 

It’s also the only thing the NCAA makes money on. Maybe they’ll go bankrupt and finally go away
