Uh oh

Definitely not looking good. I'm glad he went to another school and didn't just join a powerhouse program like Duke or Kentucky.

It shouldn't affect his draft stock too much if he's ruled ineligible. I think a judge ruled he can temporarily play for now.

There may actually be a relevant team in Chicago this season - DePaul - 6 - 0. They beat BC on the road last Saturday earlier, they hammered Iowa in Iowa City, they've got Minnesota in Minneapolis followed by Texas Tech, that should show if this team is truly legitimate. For the moment Paul Reed is looking like an NBA player, the freshman, Romeo Weems, is solid and Charlie Moore is coming around.

Duke just lost at Cameron to Stephen F. Austin on a last second layup in OT. First non-conference home loss since February 2000! A $100 bet on SFA would’ve won you $8500.

I wouldn’t get too excited over a win against Iowa. They are not good.

True enough, they'll be playing Minnesota in Minneapolis Friday, Gophers are not that special but, probably better than Iowa. Guess the game following Minnesota, vs. Texas Tech will be the real test. Last night Central Michigan played amongst it's best halves of basketball all season, had the Blue Demons down 18 at halftime. Blue Demons shut them down in the second half and scored 56 points winning by 13. It's been such a long time since the Blue Demons mattered, seeing a resurgence at the start of this season is great.

Yeah...whether or not Iowa is any good, or Boston College for that matter, they went on the road and beat 2 high major teams. That's not nothing, and at the very least proves that DePaul is a decent team. Of course we're hoping that they are better than decent, but its a nice step to not see them completely suck at the very least.

I root for 3 teams in college basketball, Michigan (childhood team), DePaul (alma mater) and Dayton (wife's alma mater) probably in that order. All 3 are undefeated and are surprising me. Probably won't last much longer with Michigan in a tourney with Iowa State, UNC, Gonzaga, Seton Hall and Oregon, Dayton playing Kansas today and DePaul playing Texas Tech next week, but its been fun and I hope they can keep playing well.

I'm in the same boat. I usually don't have much to root for with my two teams (DePaul [alma mater] and Penn State [hometown team]). Both are undefeated early, which is fun while it lasts.

At least Penn State has made some deep runs (and won) in the NIT, while DePaul has just been poop

Update: one of those teams did lose unfortunately. It was Dayton in OT to Kansas. Other than that Michigan just crushed 2 top 10 teams, Dayton destroyed a team that beat MSU the day before and DePaul notched their 3rd power 5 conference road win. 20-1 overall and I’d guess at least 2 if not all 3 of them will be ranked on Monday.

I love college basketball. And while I’m riding high on endorphins, Michigan may have somehow upgraded their head coaching in the offseason. And that’s no disrespect to Beilein

Blue Demons did well, lead the game almost from start to finish and were on the verge of blowing them out, next is Texas Tech in Chicago.

Last night Illini come out loafing, get down 27 in the first half then, after half, they decide to play and almost pull it out. Bad enough it's against an average to bad Miami team afterwards, Underwood says its on him. Apparently, Underwood says, they had one of worst, unfocused shoot-arounds he's ever seen, how could Whitman not be pissed off? Losing is one thing however, losing and not trying is inexcusable. If I'm Whitman and I see that kind of lack of effort again, I fire Underwood on the spot. Looks like a third consecutive 0-2 start to the Big Ten season is imminent, with the talent he has, if he doesn't get them to the Big Dance. I have to believe he's done and the Illinois will be looking for another HC - again. Unfocused shoot-around/practice what of a [expletive] excuse is that?
