Glad the zebras didn't manufacture a foul on Ayo to bail the Badgers out -

If anything it's a foul on Davison, love the way Davison runs away with his arms up trying to draw some [expletive] call.

The could really be 14-2 pretty easily. The arrow is pointed up. It’s just taken forever.

They're still way too inconsistent in effort on a game to game basis.

After this game, them not taking care of business against Rutgers at home would be so Illinois basketball the last decade. I believe the previous game and this game is a start towards consistency in effort, with that, they'll be in the tournament.

Rutgers is a big game. They’re a good team, but one we have to beat at home. I really think they’ve turned a corner a bit, but part of me thinks they’ll but punch us not because that’s what they’ve done for the last 15 years.

I’m so excited for next year. As long as ayo is the only departure, I think we could be a lot better.

I share your trepidation however, in BU first two years they've started BT play 0-4, 3-2 is quite a departure from those last two starts. So, maybe, is safe to say they've turned a corner.

This is the first time they’ve been over .500 in conference since February 2015 which is very very sad.

I’ll be at the game Saturday, I want to say I’m on something like an 8 game losing streak, so sorry

Well, that streak will be put to bed and an ip (in person?) or SouthSideRyan at Illini BB games winning streak will start.

Just curious, it appears a handful BT teams get 3 consecutive conference home games whereas, everyone else has 2? Maybe the schedules I'm looking at are incorrect but, it appears Iowa, Michigan, MSU have 3.

Illini come up big and beat a very good Rutgers team, had a little bit of a let down after the win at Madison. Nevertheless, they pulled it out while shooting terribly, pounded Rutgers on the boards this was the key to victory.

An observation - When Kofi gets the ball at the rim, he's got slam it, there's literally no one who will stop him without fouling. He'll learn.

He’s crazy. He didn’t really play well today and had 11 and 17. I have no idea what kind of timeline they have with him though, I don’t think he’s an nba player at this point, but he’s so big.

Can you guys remember a time when the league was this competitive top to bottom? There’s no easy wins on paper.

Nope. It is kind of crazy right now.

It’s competitive because every team sucks. This isn’t just for the BIG but all of college basketball. This has to be one of the worst years ever talent wise. There isn’t a good team. It’s a spectacular collection of mediocrity this year.

I wouldn’t say sucks, I just don’t think there’s any great teams. But, that could change in a month.

Which is why, I think, that this might be Gonzaga’s year. They’re always good for a few wins in the NCAAT but fold against great teams in the F4.

#11 Ohio State. 12th in Big Ten.

Now tied with Northwestern for the basement. :-"

There are three ranked teams in the bottom 5 of the big ten.

I noticed that, lol. Although PSU dropped out with the latest set of rankings released today.

Well that was a nice little performance in West Lafayette tonight. This Illinois team is really good when they’re hitting shots and I really like the defense and rebounding.

I'm cautiously optimistic, it's starting to come together, defense, offense, rebounding maybe, they'll go on run like Purdue or Michigan did last season.

With a bit of luck this team is 18-2. It’s too bad Adam Miller doesn’t want to play with Ayo. Next years team with both could be as good as we’ve had in some time.

And Missouri loses in heart breaking fashion, they did set an NCAA record for consecutive FT made nevertheless, no go Mizzou. I cannot stand Cuonzo Martin, he pulled some slimy horsefeathers with Tilmon - which turned out well, who knows if Kofi would be an Illini had Tilmon followed through on his commitment - and lied to get Mark Smith immediately eligible.

Dakich was talking about Kofi being a one and done, think he's a little raw, one more season of development and the sky is the limit for him and the Illini.

Everything I read said he was so raw and might not contribute this year. OA and Underwood have done an amazing job developing him.

He mentioned a few times that he's a lottery pick but never heard him say one and done. I think he COULD be a lottery pick but theres no way thats this coming draft.
