I got bored early and wandered off, but I probably should say how good it is to see Mitch has good stats after ragging him mercilessly when he had bad games.

That stats are somewhat misleading honestly. Will be interesting to see what the average yard per pass is by the end of the game. Lots of easy throws. But easy throws against an atrocious D leads to good stats.

Imagine that, staring down your receiver all game will eventually lead to a turnover

It wasn't even the staring him down... How the hell was that throw EVER gonna be a TD

Yeah... that had nothing to do with that interception.

Pathetic. Stop turtling on 1st and 2nd down... The o-line isn't good enough to take over the 2nd half and cram it down their throat.

I was getting a little nervous at the prospect of this becoming a game. Then that just happened and I had to leave the room so I didn't wake my wife from laughing. That was hilarious.

Every incompletion by Mitch was to a wide open receiver. I know I can't expect him to be perfect, but none of those were actual drops. They were overthrows every time. I felt bad for Miller because 4 of those balls were his targets. One was in the backfield where Trubisky threw it over his head. That was probably a nothing play anyway, but it's pretty sad when you can't place a ball within a 10-12 foot window where the receiver can actually catch the ball. Also, 3 or 4 of those passes were potentially big plays. My excitement leading into this year was because I felt like Trubisky would get in tune with his receivers this year after having an entire offseason to work with them. Unfortunately, I am starting to believe that Trubisky is just not going to be an accurate passer. I guess there is still a possibility to win with an offense that punts a lot as they proved last year, but it's certainly asking a lot of the defense to repeat what they did last year.

Yeah he was not impressive last night. The throw to Gabriel was really nice but one throw does not make a good QB. But it does frustrate you because you think that if he can just be a little more consistent with his accuracy he could be good. Of course there are a lot of failed QBs you can say that about.

Does that fact that he seems to do best when he's scrambling or during broken plays (or with the game on the line) suggest that he has a mental issue? Like in normal game situations he's trying too hard to run the offense properly and make progressions, etc that he overthinks things and ends up either making bad decisions or making the right one but not throwing accurate. But when plays break down he just plays football and finds the open guy based on instinct and raw talent.

Considering the high emphasis on the Bears not wanting Mitch to think too much, and scaling back the offense, not to mention his entire career's work, it's not much of a stretch to say that a mental issue is at hand. Specifically, dumbness.

I think we have enough body of work to say Mitch will never be a great QB or a franchise QB. However, I am still confident we can win a Super Bowl with Mitch at QB because of this defense.

I think he's a headcase. Whether that is being dumb, or lacking or having fragile confidence, or whatever. It's just so jarring to see him make an incredible throw to Gabriel to end the half, then just completely horsefeathering up a gimme TD to Robinson in the 3rd. It's like you can see his brain get in the way of his body.

i just think he's been coddled too much. the lazy int was just that: flat out sloppy/lazy throw. I'm not big on lighting people up on the sidelines, but sooner or later Nagy needs to find a way to get mitch focused.

eta: make that immediately, not sooner or later
