I was all doom-bonered up to see the box score after readying about how terrible Darvish is. Was not expecting a no-hit shutout through 3.

 

This is like waking up from a 3 year coma, hearing about everything that has happened, and then going with, "boy, I was not expecting to see that the economy was doing so well!" as your main takeaway.

 

I'm not saying you're wrong. Just that you doom blue-balled me.

Next closest is Wacha at 6.03. Only 5 other qualified pitchers have over 5 BB/9. Yu's basically in a league of his own.

It doesn't seem like a coaching issue. For one thing, we've changed pitching coaches since last year, and for another, no one else on the staff seems to be consistently having this problem except Edwards (whose issues go back to when Bosio was pitching coach); even Chatwood has been a little better in that department.

Mike Montgomery is one of the nicest little mid-season pick ups the Cubs have ever made
