How convenient for the VB’s that they get a day off before the start of every Cubs series this season.

These new small market competitive balance rules are stupid

Can we just get an old-fashioned butt-woopin' this game? that would be a nice exclamation point on this series and stretch of baseball

Not entirely true, but mostly true. They have off before every series except 1 and they play in Oakland the day before having to come to Wrigley the next day to play in August.

And really, going into this weekend, it'd be nice to let Darvish relax (if that's even possible for him) and not stress the high end bullpen guys (if we have any of those still). I want Rizzo pitching the 8th and 9th.

Len & JD lied to me?! Those bastards.

Meanwhile, the Cubs have already had 7 of their 19 scheduled off days this year while the Brewers have only had 3 of their 20 so far. So the Cubs have 12 more off days while the Brewers have 17.

What about the Cardinals?

By my quick count STL has had 4 off days.

4 out of 19 used already. So 15 remaining

First Darvish start I've watched and 1/3 of his pitches are nowhere near the zone. I didn't realize it was this bad.

He's actually been way better than usual today.

That sucks but when we run away with the division despite this disadvantage it will make it all the more glorious

Complaining about the spacing of scheduled off days is something we would (rightfully) mock endlessly if other teams tried to do that to us. If we get a bunch of rainouts and end up with something like last year, sure, but even then it's pretty soft. Given that we played like complete garbage coming out of the gate, all those off days probably benefited us to some degree in righting the ship.

It's kinda to the point that I almost think Darvish ever being good was some kind of elaborate urban legend. Why would anyone ever swing at this fartknocker's fartknockery.
