Looks like there's a good possibility of Arizona trading Greinke and Goldschmidt, at least. I'd be very interested in Archie Bradley.....

The Padres have a serious 40 Man crunch coming, it'd be nice to find a way to take advantage of that.

The Braves have so many arms, I'd love to find a way to grab one or two from them somehow.

I've brought up some pen arms..... Jimenez in Detroit, Rogers in Minnesota, Yates and Castillo in San Diego, Dominguez in Philly......(if it Schwarber going back, I would want more. If it's Happ, these guys make sense)

Anyone got any other ideas?

i have nothing to add except that i love that the title is "realistic trade targets" and the first line is "greinke and goldschmidt are available."

Realistically, if we're talking Arizona, I wouldn't mind bringing Avila back to be the back up catcher. I know he struggled this past season, but with the right deal it'd be fine, even if he continued to suck and had to be cut. I'd imagine they'd be willing to take pretty little to move on, maybe do a lottery ticket for him and $2mil to offset the salary a little.

I don’t know if it’s realistic, but Robbie Ray would be great if Arizona is blowing it up.

If they lose out on Harper or get Machado, Castellanos from Detroit could be a good target.

Scooter Gennett? Jon Gray? Cesar Hernandez? Whit Merrifield?

If Arizona is blowing it up Bradley would be a really nice target. Maybe they view him as part of the future, but Ketel Marte would also be a nice pickup too as the backup MIF target.

Certainly didn't say WE want them. But, they are evidently available, making Bradley realistic.

If we lose out on Harper and somebody makes a decent offer on Schwarber, I would love to add Peralta to the Ray and Bradley rumor list from the Diamondbacks.

I’m guessing the Angels will try and fake compete again, but if they look to trade some stuff off I’d have a lot of interest in Andrelton Simmons. He is 29/30 and has 2 years left on his deal, he seems to have learned how to hit a bit the last 2 years and been a not awful hitter the last 2 years and he’s the best defensive SS in MLB.

Even if they are trying to win maybe there’s still something to be worked out there with some combo of Schwarber/Happ/Monty/etc types. They would save some money picking from that pool and have a bloated payroll which could free up some money to spend elsewhere.

Simmons is awesome but yeah, the Angels are more likely to keep him. They absolutely should be all about him if he were to become available. Secretly I want two bats

I’m looking for a RHH that can handle CF. Who is out there? How are we not talking about Adam Conley more as a trade target?

I was all about Conley at the deadline and wanted him bad. He was awful post deadline though, would want to make sure no injuries or whatever happened there since I can’t say I followed him at all after the deadline.

RHH for CF you have Maybin and Jackson in FA, McCutchen in only the rarest of cases. Ketel Marte has some very limited CF time in the majors and minors.

Assuming any trades bring us pitching and not hitting, which may not even be true, but whatever..... If we get Bryce, give me Marwin or Escobar, to pair with him. Although, going with Iglesias or Half is MAY be a better fit. If we get Manny, get me the same, or maybe Chisenhall, if he's healthy.

I like Merrifield but I think the Royals will rightfully want more than the Cubs can afford in a prospect package. Additionally, the Cubs can get middle infield and utility help through free agency and better utilize their trade capital for pitching help.

“We’re entering the winter open-minded to relocation,” Cashman said of Gray. “…It’s probably best to try somewhere else.”

I really wanted us to get Gray like 4 years ago. It is probably a good thing I am not the GM of the Cubs.

Maybe the Yankees think they could fix Chatwood and would be interested in a sucky pitcher swap if we chucked a fistful of hundos at them.

Outside of Yankee Stadium he was pretty much the pitcher he's always been.
