I debating skipping work and even pulled up tickets, but $63 to get in the door is a little much. Guess I will watch from work

I'm having the same internal debate but add a $74 train ride to it. I'm torn.

if you could lock in a future where the Cubs lose tomorrow but win the WC game, would you do it?

Absolutely. 100% chance of an NLDS appearance vs 75ish% chance.

3 games in Wrigley North and 2 in normal Wrigley is not that bad

You could sell me even more on it if we took out the Dodgers in the WC game.

I remember this game vividly for a couple of reasons. I was watching this game with a couple of friends and my now ex-wife, who is a die hard Giants fan. We had been married for only a little more than a year at the time. I called the Gaetti homer in between innings, before the Cubs came up, telling everyone that the Cubs were going to break the scoreless tie on a Gaetti homer. When it happened, I went screaming through the house, "I called it motherfuckers!" Needless to say, my ex-wife was none too pleased and, looking back, that was probably the beginning of the end of a marriage that should have never happened...wtf was I thinking marrying a Giants fan. Lol. Go Cubs!

Wow the Cubs going into the late innings with a comfortable lead only to make it very nerve wracking before pulling it out. Sounds like another Cubs team I know.

It’s crazy how a game like this I’m not particularly anxious about. I mean yes it’s a big game and I want to win but the fact that we have 2 chances to advance makes this less stressful. Heck we can’t even win to get bragging rights over Milwaukee since we might see them again 3 days later. If we win great, if we don’t Big D-ck Jon will get it done on Tuesday and we will get a day off which for most teams is not long enough to recharge before the DS but for the Cubs, I’m worried that it’s too much time off and they will be rusty

It's basically the same as being up 2-1 in a best of 5 or 3-2 in a best of 7.

Yeah I also feel completely relaxed about this as well. It’s like, the annoying thing happened and we’re gonna have to play some more, but I’m oddly confident we’re going to advance to the NLDS either way.

And if we don’t, well, whatever

I’ve been a total lunatic this week. That said, the Cardinals are done, the Brewers don’t bother me. Whatever happens happens, but I’m really excited because we have just as good a shot as anybody to win the pennant. I’m extremely proud of the 2018 Cubs. Time to actually enjoy why we are fans of a baseball team.

I assume Counsell will do whatever it takes to win this game if the Brewers are winning which means we need to get a few runs off whoever they decide to start. If we’re up by 3 after 5, he might decide to hold off on using his better relievers and save them for Tuesday.

seems like there should be more pressure on the brewers. if they go balls out with the bullpen and lose they’re in trouble for the WC game the next day.
