I hope the Sox call up Eloy before this series. I would respect the petty, troll move and it would be a horsefeathers show on Cubs twitter.

That would be a pretty weak troll. "I hope you suckers enjoyed your 3rd straight NLCS run last year, and your likely WS caliber teams for the next 3, because this guy might be good someday and then we might not have the worst record in baseball."

So, perfect for the Sox?

Would be super dumb on their part to bring him up anytime before the 7th or whatever day of next season.

Exactly my thought. This is the type of move little brother franchises make and think they're being awesome and right in the Sox wheelhouse.

Exactly what I was thinking as well. Delay his FA since the Sox won't be competitive for a couple more years. I've heard some speculation they might call him up sometime over the summer like in late July.

Some super optimistic Sox fans think they can be competitive as soon as next year if they go out and sign Machado and some other key FAs. Wishful thinking for sure lol.

I'll be sitting in the bleachers with three Sox fans on Saturday (assuming the game gets played, weather looks miserable). In this current environment, I shouldn't even have to endure minutes of abuse as a Cubs fan from a Sox fan. Sweep them, blow them out, piss on their graves.

(actually two of three is probably fine, it's baseball, things happen)

Bold prediction: Chatwood walks fewer than 5 batters in this one.

damn, you don’t think he’s going to make it out of the second?

White Sox starters this year are walking 11.7% of guys and striking out 14.3%.

As a point of comparison, Anthony Rizzo the past three years is at 11.2% and 14.8%.

This series is going to do for our guys' plate discipline numbers what the Marlins series did for their power numbers.

All offense lineup, which makes sense with Chatwood on the mound.

Zobrist, Bryant, Rizzo, Javy, Schwarber, Willson, Addy, Happ

Weather the rest of the weekend looks real questionable, so take care of this one today.
