Had 'em all the way.

Now, after Joe emptied the reserve tanks to get us here, the Cubs return to the NLCS to once again serve as nightmare fuel for Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers:

We don't know who we're starting. Maybe it's Quintana after he threw 12 pitches on what I think would normally have been his throw day yesterday. Maybe it's Lackey, who wasn't even used in the NLDS. Who knows. Who cares. We're here. LA wanted no part of us. They're about to be reminded why.

The Cubs are gonna hit Kershaw. They aren't afraid of the Dodgers. They hit this team last year and they know they can do it again. I think they'll hit much better than they did vs the Nats.

Oh hey NLCS

Oh man, if we turn this into a cavalcade of Must See TV gifs, I AM DOWN.

Buckle up for hilarity from The Single Guy and Veronica's Closet!

The nats scared me more due a number of factors. 5 games instead of 7, the known factor of Daniel Murphy and his douchebagginess, and the general unknown factor of the nats.

We've seen these dodgers before (mostly) and am confident. Win.

I thought the Nationals were the best team in the NL, especially after fixing their bullpen. I’ve been irrationally unimpressed by the Dodgers all season.

I will be at this game and, unlike others on this board, have a perfect record in the Disneyland looking ballpark. I am hoping for Q and a big victory.

How many days rest is this for Kershaw? If I remember correctly, he was pretty bad after an extra day (which is what happened the second time in Wrigley).

Posted
This is worrisome... if they haven't left ABQ yet, you have to assume that the individual's not in great shape. Hopefully they're being extra cautious.

I would not make that assumption, there are rules about how long a pilot can be working, and it may just be that he/she is no longer allowed to take off after the delay.

If Lackey beats Kershaw, it would be so demoralizing that they couldn't recover.

Cubs are playing with house money. This is an advantage. Game 1 is more important to them.

Man, at this point I have zero problem with Lackey starting game 1, or even really just writing it off. Just get the rotation back on track, steal one in LA and then head home to take at least two.
