I mean 10 AB is not a large sample size and I have no idea where you'd play him but....Seal Boy with 2 XBH including a HR in 10 ABs is pretty solid right?

I would pay some "to be negotiated" sum of money if MLB would do a special broadcast online with the hometown announcers. I know Len will do some radio, but I wanna hear a full Len and JD call of the playoffs.

Worst part of playoffs in the MLB and NHL is the lack of hometown announcers. I know NBA does it too but I don't care.

I'm the opposite. I like the change of pace and the presentation of national broadcasts for the playoffs...at least, once it's on Fox. And I love Len and JD.

That said, there are a few national guys I think are awful.

Yeah, a lot of national guys suck, but complaining about them is a big part of the process, and accepting them is how you get playoff pageantry.

Yep. It's part of what makes it different and special for me. The local Len and JD broadcast feels very routine after 6 months and 162.

Wife going in for C-Section tomorrow - twins.

She will be in the hospital for a few days....so in theory, I can watch the Friday/Saturday games unfettered (oh right, I'll be watching our 2 year old), but will probably be all over the place, so I'll be gamecasting on phone and reading this thread in its entirety at midnight or so.

We are going to win. It has been mentioned before, but I don't think it is meatbally to play the "we have been here before" card. The fightin' dustys (sorry, the VAUNTED FDs) will be feeling the pressure. Who knows if that non stats based proclamation has merit, but I say it anyway, because horsefeathers it, we won the WS last year.

I have a new Cubs sweatshirt, it's super ugly, one that only a fat old dad would wear. I'll unveil it at the hospital tomorrow. Let these Bay Area people know that winning a WS every other year is weak horsefeathers!

GO CUBS, here's to a memorable postseason.

Yeah it’s all part of it, TBS graphics really suck to me though. The scoreboard on the screen seems small and even though I usually love having a K-zone tracker I don’t like theirs. Oh well, it is what it is but just don’t like it.

TBS really sucks. They can't do anything right. I agree that national broadcasts make the stage feel bigger and that it is just part of the process. But TBS needs to get their horsefeathers together. They forget simple things, like showing check swings and who is up in the bullpen. Their K-Zone is, I'm pretty sure, a guy pointing to where he thinks a pitch went. The presentation is really horrible.

Yeah, I remember 2015 with the Cardinals and Mets their K-Zone being laughably out of whack

Yeah, TBS is terrible. I think FOX does a decent job, and I actually like listening to J. Smoltz and J. Buck has his moments. Ernie Johnson is great when he's hosting Inside the NBA on TNT and Open Court on NBATV. I even like his sense of humor, but it just doesn't translate when discussing baseball for some reason.

I want more Matt Vasgersian.

"IT'S IN THE BASKET!"

{chills}

That wind and camera work made those 4-5 seconds (which felt like about 6 minutes) just a horsefeathering roller coaster. Between the intial contact and the first camera shot, I thought it was landing on a rooftop. Then the camera panned down way quicker than it should have, and you hear 'Pagan is there...' and you just have this sense of dread (pre-Championship), and then Vasgersian explodes with the basket comment. Feels like a different era given everything that happened the rest of the month, but what a start.

I was at the game and had no idea where the ball went. I thought off the bat it was going onto the street.

Also, this is from 2014 season preview.

In 2017, when you first hear the Cubs are facing in the Astros in the World Series, you will stop what you're doing, grab a tablet or computer, and look up the word "callipygian" in an online dictionary. You will not know why you're doing it, but it's because of the subliminal messages implanted in this article. Seriously, though, the Cubs are on the right track. They'll be good. Just not this year. At all.
