Another reason I love Hendricks game 1, is his pickoff move and him and Willy combined controlling the running game. Dusty probably still thinks he owns us and can run whenever, if we can shut them down a few times it might scare Dusty to run in future games in the series because he’s a big dumb idiot and will let recency bias influence him.

Or he doubles down and wastes what additional baserunners they manage to eke out because he's a big dumb dinosaur.

Basically Dusty is THE reason I feel so good about this series.

holy horsefeathers, a guy I work with came into my office and saw I had MLB Network on. I said Costas just called a shallow pop fly to left like it left the state, and he proceeded to list off his 3 favorite announcers: McCarver, Thom, and Steve Stone. said JD was "alright sometimes". I told him to get the horsefeathers out of my office and never come near me again

Did TBS get rid of the Hurt, Hustle, ARod triumvirate?

wasn't that fox

My bad. I was so convinced it was TBS for some reason. Anyway I liked the dynamic they had. The postgame with Pedro fumbling over every word and Sheffield showing he has a baritone with nothing interesting to say, Rollins bringing absolutely nothing to the table - it's awful. So very terrible.

Pretty sure Fox/FS1 got rid of Thomas and Rose (Rose for sure) but kept A-Rod and Keith Hernandez and Ortiz took the spots.

I want more Matt Vasgersian.

"IT'S IN THE BASKET!"

Was he the one who did "Santa Maria" on the Raji Davis HR in game 7?

As for TBS that was horrible last night, I could barely read what inning it was and the number of outs. And I have very good eyesight and a 70 Inch TV

Same. I was sitting less than 10 feet away from my 60" and I have at least 20/10 vision. Supposedly 20/8 is the best possible for humans. So, their graphic is pretty much inexcusable.

More on the gambling angle, when it comes to the series the Nats are listed at -150, Cubs +130 (on my site). Invested a bit in the Cubs to win the series when I was feeling that Max might only getting one start, and now that we KNOW he's only getting one start the line still hasn't moved.

Taking the juice out of that line it means Vegas has the series at 58.3%/41.7% in the Nats favor. Based on the projections on FanGraphs and 538 (and my own numbers) the Cubs are more like 48% to win the series so there's definitely some value. If that line moves more to the Nats side I'll probably throw down a little more on the Cubs to win it.

As far as tomorrow goes, the game should be more like 55%/45% with the Nats favored, but Vegas has it 61.5%/38.5%. So definite value there as well. Depending on how I do during the day games, I'll be rolling it over into the Cubs money line tomorrow night. Everyone is sleeping on Kyle Hendricks and the champs, and it's a bit baffling.

Hey guys are you ready? Because I’m ready

It's amazing how calm I am going into this series thanks to winning it last year.At this time last year, before the Giants series, I was completely unable to sleep, but tonight I'm going to have no problem, then I'll get up and enjoy the hell out of the early game and part of the Indians game.

I completely agree, I wish I felt more uncomfortable. But I don’t. We got this. The Vegas lines seem very off on the surface let alone factoring in the Dusty quotient. Let’s rolll boys

I'm more stoked about being able to tell people that they slept on the champs and now they have to pay. I'm guessing there is still considerable public money on the Nats and the sharps will have their say at some point tomorrow.

Javy put up an instagram story of him wearing the Air Pippen white with the AIR in blue, I hope he wears them for the game.

He wore Jordan 1's last NLDS game 1 and that went pretty well.

But they might know that until Sunday night. AL games that day are 2:30 and 7:30 ET. If the AL series split the first two, then they'll know by early evening on Friday. But if Houston and Cleveland win tomorrow, you have to wait until Game 3 is played to know if there's a Game 4.

Would they really wait until the night before the game to release the game time for the Cubs? DBacks-Dodgers don't have to worry since they'll be the late game regardless.

Winning the World Series is really unlikely for any team, whether you're a 115 win, 92 win, or 80 win team. That's why it's so amazing they did it last year...can you imagine the meatball takes if they lose this year following a game 7 loss last year, and suddenly they have 3 straight playoff exits on top of all the 1908 crap?

It would be horsefeathering amazing to win, and I'm sure come tonight I'll be cheering as hard as I was last year. But if they don't win (and statistically, they probably won't), it won't come with this sense of dread or worry that existed at the end of every other year pre-2016. They're still really talented, and really young, and they're going to be around for a long time.

We're going to know this morning.

Last year for Game 3, the Nationals/Dodgers was in the day and Cubs/Giants at night. If the Cubs won game 3, game 4 of LA/WAS would be the next night. If the Cubs lost, the game would be mid-afternoon, (with Cubs at night).

The Cubs lost in 13 innings at like 2 AM et so the Nationals and Dodgers didn't find out until 11pm PT the night before that they were playing the next afternoon.
