Hey guys are you ready? Because I’m ready

It's amazing how calm I am going into this series thanks to winning it last year.At this time last year, before the Giants series, I was completely unable to sleep, but tonight I'm going to have no problem, then I'll get up and enjoy the hell out of the early game and part of the Indians game.

Man, I slept like a baby last night; best night of sleep I've had all week. I woke up before the alarm went off and actually felt completely rested and in a good mood; the Friday before a holiday weekend and the start of Cubs' playoff baseball? Good times.

But they might know that until Sunday night. AL games that day are 2:30 and 7:30 ET. If the AL series split the first two, then they'll know by early evening on Friday. But if Houston and Cleveland win tomorrow, you have to wait until Game 3 is played to know if there's a Game 4.

Would they really wait until the night before the game to release the game time for the Cubs? DBacks-Dodgers don't have to worry since they'll be the late game regardless.

They wouldn't.

We're going to know this morning.

Last year for Game 3, the Nationals/Dodgers was in the day and Cubs/Giants at night. If the Cubs won game 3, game 4 of LA/WAS would be the next night. If the Cubs lost, the game would be mid-afternoon, (with Cubs at night).

The Cubs lost in 13 innings at like 2 AM et so the Nationals and Dodgers didn't find out until 11pm PT the night before that they were playing the next afternoon.

Theo said yesterday, and the Score was previously reporting, that the Cubs told them that late morning today at the latest is when we would know.

People forget, 2017 was supposed the be the year we started to compete but we “peaked early” so let’s crush some Dusty souls managing like the poop factory he is

It would be nice to set the Nats back a decade like Baker did the Cubs. Maybe play so hard and with such joy that Harper is convinced to sign with the Cubs?

The Cubs are developing a habit of crushing a franchise's spirit in the NLDS and them coincidentally being unable to recover. Cardinals haven't been back to the playoffs since, and the Giants were horrific this year and look far from a playoff berth in that division. The Nationals have less competition, but it's not difficult to see Dusty's usage come home to roost next year with a few pitching injuries, then Harper leaves, Murphy is 34 and it all falls apart.

Yeah this scenario is different because both games are guaranteed already. I was just pointing out that it isn't unprecedented for MLB to announce game times within 24 hours of the game and i wasnt aware of what was being reported.

Now the score is saying that we hope to know tomorrow so who the hell knows

That would make sense. At least wait to see how the AL games go today since you could have at least one Game 4 be guaranteed.

i thought it was weird too...but theo and pretty much everyone on the station was saying their contacts at the cubs said they were expecting to know by late this morning. oh well.

I think the only way the Cubs play a night game is if both ALDS series end in sweeps, otherwise probably a 4:08pm start is my guess

I feel so different compared to last season....last year there were the expectations that were sky high...this year whatever happens happens but its much less stressful after seeing a series win

Considering that Heyward's defense goes from elite to merely good moving between RF and CF, its going to be interesting with him Schwarber and Zobrist in the OF. That said, I'm sure they will already be adjusting the defense by the 5th or 6th inning.

Other than that, nice lineup.

Yeah, get a lead early and the swap Schwarber out for defense.

Hendricks is an elite ground ball guy, so they sacrificed OF defense to have a good enough lineup to fit in Javy v. Strasburg. By the time Strasburg is out Schwarber is either gonna get pinch hit for by Almora or double switched out for Happ/Jay.

Any idea what umpire crew we get?

HP: Cory Blaser

1B: Ron Kulpa

2B: Fieldin Culbreth

3B: Laz Diaz

LF: Jerry Layne, CC

RF: Will Little

No idea if that is accurate from the google search
