  1. This jay Jackson is a blast from the past. I never knew he made the bigs.
  2. While we are at it, DFA Q, Monty, and Carl’s. Wait let me start a Bosio thread for that.
  3. Wife going in for C-Section tomorrow - twins. She will be in the hospital for a few days....so in theory, I can watch the Friday/Saturday games unfettered (oh right, I'll be watching our 2 year old), but will probably be all over the place, so I'll be gamecasting on phone and reading this thread in its entirety at midnight or so. We are going to win. It has been mentioned before, but I don't think it is meatbally to play the "we have been here before" card. The fightin' dustys (sorry, the VAUNTED FDs) will be feeling the pressure. Who knows if that non stats based proclamation has merit, but I say it anyway, because horsefeathers it, we won the WS last year. I have a new Cubs sweatshirt, it's super ugly, one that only a fat old dad would wear. I'll unveil it at the hospital tomorrow. Let these Bay Area people know that winning a WS every other year is weak horsefeathers! GO CUBS, here's to a memorable postseason.
  4. Probably gotta see who is available first. If you can get Sweeney on a 3/15? horsefeathers off, Kyle
  5. LOL why is Javy so horsefeathering awesome? Love that horsefeathers
  6. I think I've sort of taken a real lax attitude towards anything this year, just from winning last year. It has been frustrating, but here we are in September and still in it. Should Lackey have kept cool? I don't know. I guess he made his point after the first demonstration, but you knew something would go down after giving up the base hit. It's too bad bc he was pitching well, but he's "Big John" so I guess his DNA made him do it. Did Willson get tossed for nothing, then go crazy? That sucks. Hopefully the suspension is small. In a big situation, Joe used it to call upon a guy who's pitched pretty poopy. If you get really horsefeathering drunk and squint hard enough at it, it was a leader showing confidence in a guy in a last ditch effort to save his ass before having to set a playoff roster. I guess it could also be interpreted as blowing the game and really hurting our chances to make the playoffs, but hey, he got the K! It's in the past now, it's an opportunity now to get a W and pick up those guys. Only down 2-1. If we win, would be a nice boost for the rest of the series too, showing that fire. (I know, it isn't really fire, it's more "losing cool" but let's just word it differently!)
  7. That was a great AB. He hasn't been drawing tons of unintentional walks, we all know this, but just watching his ABs over the last month, there's been some changes, w/ a lot more good takes. This AB just now, a lot close pitches that he laid off of and took his base, nice!
  8. I thought Scott Bullett and Ozzie Timmons were going to be players for a while. Good game tonight.
  9. Joe mentioned the great secondary lead after the game. In the offseason Javy should have a show where he does mundane tasks, but looks electric doing it. Chopping vegetables, brushing his teeth, taking out the trash. I'd watch it.
  10. Hard earned W today! woot!
  11. I cringed when I heard that clip. Javy is awesome, and from what I've seen in his interviews, is just an upbeat and positive guy. If you can't watch that guy and be happy, horsefeathers you.
  12. i think almora swung at that wild pitch from the dugout. but, we win!
