I'm nervous/excited, obviously, but oddly less nervous than I was yesterday.

i am so unbelievably nervous that there's some part of me that wishes i could not watch the game or something.

like my body is physically wanting to reject watching the game.

Yeah, I don't usually get nervous till pregame, but my heart is gonna beat out of my chest today.

Guys, I was the one that called the Russell granny last night.

I was absolutely shaking when it happened.

Fowler is coming up huuuuge tonight.

Tonight, we celebrate.

Yesterday I was prepared to say goodbye to this team if things didn't go the right way

Today I'm sad that no matter what this is the last baseball game for like 6 months and its starting to hit me.

I mentioned this yesterday and it bears repeating.....I heard "We are Family" in the supermarket yesterday... last time a team down 3-1 came back to win it on the road. 1979 and the "We Are Family" Pirates.....

I jokingly posted something like this after game 1

When the Giants won Game 3, I thought the Cubs were doomed

When the Dodgers went up 2-1, I thought the Cubs were doomed

So I said that I thought they were doomed down 1-0 but didn't really mean it.... well going down 3-1 I wasn't as bummed as I was at those other two points but it was looking grim. Teams having mantras/rallying cries I've always found dumb, but these guys really have embodied "We never quit." It's 1 baseball game so it can go either way, but what the Chicago Cubs have done this postseason is unlike anything I've ever seen in my sports fandom.

This will be the smallest gap between seasons the Cubs have ever had though...if that helps.

I'm with Sofa on this one. Definitely nervous but less than yesterday...hard to describe why.

But I absolutely get what David is saying because I've felt that multiple times this postseason...to the point where I'm like 'why do i root so hard for the Cubs to be in this position only to get there and sort of wish there wasn't an important game tonight so I didnt have to feel this way right now?'

From the Game 4 thread postgame:

Winning game 7 is going to be fun.

I just made the trip to the future in my time machine, and all I'm allowed to say without causing all kinds of trouble is: You're not wrong.

Also: Having an NFL team in London turns out to be a horrible idea. But you probably guessed that already.

I can't wait to see how you guys react when what happens tonight, happens.

I mean, I've already read your future posts. But can't wait for it to happen for you all in real time, and then actually have that conversation. 8-)

Also I'm guessing pitchers and catchers will report early this year because of the WBC. That has been the case in years past right?

Twins have a report date of Feb 13, that's the only one I can find. Based on that, the offseason will last just 102 days. For a frame of reference, 102 days ago was July 23rd. The Cubs lost in Milwaukee 6-1, but won the next game with a bases loaded double by Rizzo. A week after that, the Cubs began their 11 game winning streak that basically clinched best record in NL

I would love the most anti-climatic win of all time.

Impossible. Both of these teams fan bases will climax like never before if they win.

Only if the Cubs win.

The Argument for Starting David Ross in Game 7

Considering this is an AL game I'd probably play it like this:

- Start Montero, he has a better shot of hitting Kluber and you don't lose much defensively compared to Contreras(less arm, more framing)

- When the catcher's spot comes up against Miller or whenever Lester comes into the game(whichever comes first), insert Ross. He's already seen Miller once and gave him a good at bat, and naturally he's well equipped to catch Lester

- If needed, pinch hit Contreras for Ross against Allen. By that time we should be to Chapman's portion of the game so the consideration is getting runs if you need them.

That said, using 3 catchers for 9 innings is pretty unorthodox. Considering that Baez and Heyward are likely starting for mostly defensive purposes though, I don't know if you want to forfeit another lineup spot against Kluber by starting Ross.

Barstool Live will be live the entire game I have found that when those guys are on its just easy to mute the tv broadcast and listen to them ...makes it a little easier to watch the game

I remember this from a Game 1 post. We ended #Believen we ended #Believin for the Giants and Dodgers and now it's time to end #Believeland Edited by Cubswin11

Totally unrelated but I really hope Puerto Rico fields an infield of Arenado, Lindor, Correa and Javy.

Ugh, not a fan of the WBC.

I'd rather listen to Joe Buck than Barstool.

I'm the exact same way. But I'm asking myself why because we've already faced two elimination games, and I wasn't this stressed before.

Joe Buck has been fine.

Smoltz is rather dumb though.

Buck is fine calling game action...I don't like his thoughts as he fills space though.

I've enjoyed Smoltz quite a bit outside of his Lester/running game analysis/obsession.

This is the 3rd time seeing Kluber, the third time is always the charm! The Indians asses are tighter than 1 inch sewer line. The Cubs are smooth and silky.

The Cubs will win.
