My source tells me there's a possibility that Schwarber starts at 1B with Rizzo moving to RF.

No, Schwarbs isn't playing lf guys

You sure about that?

I'd put money on it. Not a lot, but I don't think they're going to mess around with his health, and he'd probably be really, really rusty out there.

Source guy, WHY SHOULDN'T HE BE SURE ABOUT THIS. PLEASE TELL ME!

Plan is for him to workout and get examined in Chicago tomorrow or at least it was this morning. He wants to play and the org wants him to play and it's not fear of re-injury or anything but just having the stamina to move and stand around in the outfield and also taking ABs.

As soon as I hear from my buddy tomorrow I'll let everyone know because I'm just as anxious.

Schwarber always seems a little confused and shy in interviews i feel like in the back of his mind there's a constant voice saying "hit baseballs...smash baseballs...is this guy asking me about playing the field? I dunno I just wanna smoke baseballs"

Nothing against Cleveland but I really want to take Lindor from them when he hits FA. He's already my favorite non-Cubs player put there. He will be 26-28 when he hits FA!

he's incredible

holy horsefeathers could be 35MPH out at the end of the game on Friday

Josh Tomlin had the third highest HR/9 among qualified starters in MLB this year. Hendricks had the sixth lowest. Bring the wind on.

Prediction for Tomlin:

The Cubs broke the Terry Francona mystique, as this was the first time a team he's managed has lost in the World Series.

I want this team forever. It's so fun and I want them always

You shall get them forever... excuse me while I bust the most gigantic of nuts.

you can have your rainbows and puppy dogs. I'll be over here with my personal rain cloud. I've been burned by sports too many times to not be a grouchy turd all the time

when are you going to realize that this is WHY bad things happen?

That's kind of a philosophically profound statement. A little Quantum Physics?

Yup. I'm just riding the wave function my man.

I still dislike Chapman in non clean non save situations

Same here. I would have liked Strop or CJ in to face Napoli and finish the 8th.

I feel like this has been ridiculously exagerrated & id rather nobody get the ball to get out of a jam more than Chapman.

Maybe I need to cut people some slack bc it's the world horsefeathering series, but people's posts about a fantastic no hit outing through 5 1/3 really annoyed the horsefeathers out of me. And I'm not sober. Maybe that's what's wrong. Jake did exactly what we needed. horsefeathers yes jake and horsefeathers everyone acting like he was a turd.

Let's beat some ass when I'm in Chicago this weekend.

I just love this team so much. And it might be [expletive], but the narrative of everyone having each other's back and picking each other up is certainly playing out. If you just look at our path here, different guys have stepped up at different times. One guy struggles and another guy steps up. Rizzo and Russell were having a terrible time of it, and suddenly they are carrying us to the World Series. When all the bats were cold, we relied on a bunch of pitchers getting huge hits. Miggy comes off the bench with a huge pinch hit grand slam. Javy dominates the first two series and then goes to horsefeathers. And some guy who hasn't played all year is like, "I'll take it from here." Heading into the World Series, pretty much everyone had already chipped in, except Zobrist (at this point, Heyward doesn't count). So Zobrist's like, "Well, gosh, I guess I'll just have to get a hit in every AB." Big Jon's been a rock and finally faltered. So Arrieta decides, "Time for me to take a no-hitter into the sixth and pick him up." Fowler's now the one struggling, so, inevitably, he'll reach base four times and score three runs on Friday.

If we end up winning this and you told me that we were lucky to survive the crap shoot, I wouldn't argue. We'd be fortunate. But the actual reason we'd have won is because we are deeper than everyone else and we are better than everyone else. We showed it all year and now we are showing it in the playoffs. I'm not sure if there is any link between depth and playoff success. I don't know if anyone's even studied it. I would surmise that there isn't, or if there is that it has a very small affect. There's just too much randomness for anything to matter too much. But, it'd be nice to know that we can overcome the randomness through sheer dominance and excellence. The Dodgers were like, "Kershaw and Hill will take us to the World Series." And the Cubs said, "Nah. That's not going to work." And then the Indians thought they could ride Kluber to the title, and soon found out it was going to take more than that.

It's just a great team. And I love them all so much.
