Kershaw is going down in flames.

I feel that way too. All this confidence is contagious.

I wouldn't consider losing 2-0 going down in flames but I'll take it.

Does anyone watch these CSN postgame polls? The way the percentages bounce around makes absolutely no sense and can't possibly be accurate. I think they are using the Trump campaign contribution tracker program.

Aroldis just seeemd annoyed and inconvenienced over coming in to an 8-2 lead

I guess I would be too, considering that he has been warming up since, what the 7th inning? I kind of felt like he came in too hot.

Not to mention coming in the 8-2 game isn't intense as say a 8-6 game.

Either way, glad to win this game. Let's get this over with on Saturday and punch our tickets to the World Series.

Guys, Roberts taking out Maeda with lester up was the best example of TT's joke about a manager playing a twelve deep game of telephone with a SABR front office Edited by David

didn't watch, only listened to Buck & Smoltz...what was the final tally for stolen bases allowed and fielding horsefeathers ups by Lester? 20? (apiece)

Well, they stole 1. In the 9th. Down by 100000

Yeah, I was not surprised they were taking huge leads at 1st.

I was more surprised that they were not aggressive/stealing bases.

I have to say. My entire opinion of ARod has changed. Can't believe how likable he's been.

Yep, totally. If he does this type of stuff for a few more years he could really rehab his image IMO

Same here. His analysis and commentary are excellent and he is coming off as a really great guy.

Random, but Frank Thomas only made 5 all-star games. That's kinda surprising.

That's a crime

Age 23, he hit .318/.453/.553, 180 OPS+, 6.9 WAR, 32 HR, 109 RBI and didn't make the All-Star team. Wut?

Looks like Cecil Fielder, Raffy, and Big Mac beat him that year. 1991

yeah FS1 doesn't filter the tweets or they don't give a horsefeathers

They filter it. Give them credit for being able to make fun of thmselves. Between the solid analysis of ARod and Big hurt and the sheer entertainment of Rose, they put on a pretty good show.

Speaking of Rose, I love this stat...

Pete Rose's career:

1st base: 939 games

2nd base: 628 games

3rd base: 634 games

LF: 673 games

RF: 589 games

CF: 73 games

and was a switch hitter

I've stumbled across that stat a few times and am amazed each time. One year, I think 2003, he finished 2nd in the MVP balloting and didn't make it. I know he was a DH by that point but dude deserved better

It's crazy how using the exact same strategy that failed for basically every Cubs opponent for the last 2 years against Lester didn't pay off tonight.
