Rooting for the Mets (I guess). Just not sure they have enough offense to get it done.

Really want to give them a nice smack for last year.

And the Giants kinda scare me.

The Mets rotation is pretty banged up so I guess I hope they advance. The Giants have the potential to throw Cueto twice and Madbaum once. But I like Jake's approach..."Who gives a horsefeathers".

Part of me wants the Mets so the Cubs can exact some kind of revenge. Part of me wants the Giants because F their even year [expletive].

But either way, I'll be pretty confident going into this series. For all the talk about Cueto and Mad Bum 3 of 5 games, they have to face the Cubs pitchers too. The Giants best regular against the Cubs this season was Hunter Pence and his .640 OPS, thanks to 2 HRs in his 3 for 20.

You know, for weeks the baseball media has been talking about the GIants collapse, and how terribly they've played, then they play decent in the last week and now they're this scary underdog that nobody should want to play...

Make up your mind.

I don't like that wild card teams get several days to get their horsefeathers together and then another couple days before the DS. Play the day after the season, and then start the Divisional Series the next day.

I say this because I've been needing meaningful baseball for more than a month now.

It helps make it more likely they burn their best pitchers just like the Mets and Giants will do.

Taking a shot in the dark for Friday....I believe on the days with 4 games there are early afternoon, late afternoon, early evening and late evening time slots. I believe the games can overlap a bit if necessary (like one game starting 2 hours after another game).

Early Afternoon (1:07 CT?) - Blue Jays/Orioles at Rangers

Late Afternoon (3:37 CT?) - Dodgers at Nationals

Early Evening (6:07 CT?) - Red Sox at Indians

Late Evening (8:37 CT?) - Giants/Mets at Cubs

Reasoning:

-All home teams are eastern and central teams. Dodgers might end up being the only playoff team west of CT

-Because of this, it seems almost certainly that one of the CT home teams will be in the late evening time slot (assuming they won't start a game after 9PM local time in ET)

-That leaves Cubs or Rangers. The Jays, Orioles and Rangers have nowhere near the national interest of the Cubs, Giants and Mets. The Cubs will be the late slot.

-For the other games, if its the Blue Jays, they will almost certainly be early afternoon as a Canadian team doesn't move the dial as much on US TV without a local fanbase pumping up numbers. Even if its the Orioles, that series clearly has the least national teams involved.

-Complete guess on the other 2. Assuming the Red Sox would be ever so slightly more enticing for prime time than the Dodgers.

My sister's stupid wedding has the potential to really screw up my weekend. I don't know why she couldn't plan this around the strangers that I want to watch play games.

I have a wedding to attend the weekend after this one and I live in fear of missing an NLCS game because of it. One thing at a time, though.
