Who gives a [expletive] about Des Moines? Sounds like a [expletive] hole.

But I was wrong, Seattle:

http://komonews.com/weather/scotts-weather-blog/seattle-really-one-of-the-most-humid-cities-in-the-us-you-bet-12-20-2015

Apparently they have a special type of humidity that doesn't suck. I just saw those humidity percentages on the weather reports and cringed.

yeah, it's terrible. don't come here.

btw this trade is awesome

I'm going to move to your dumb city and fart all over it.

you realize you can comfortably wear jeans basically 11 (if not 12) months out of the year here, you shorts hating goof?

I'm still down for trading for Chapman. Obviously, we got a young lefty pen arm that is controlled for awhile. So Miller's probably a no-go, especially considering the asking price. This was a big [expletive] you to Cashman and his demands. But, he might come crawling back once they start floating Chapman's name about. Toss him some leftover Candelario-type pieces and see if he bites.

horsefeathers chapman. isn't there a less woman abusing pitcher available?

i hate chapman but damn that could be a nasty bullpen if he came cheap

I'm in the same boat. I see how great it'd be to add that talent. If we add him......Whatever. I'll deal with it and I'll know the team is better. I hope we add Miller or Colome though, if we add a big pen piece. But I'd much prefer to add a SP anyway.

I already said I was wrong about the humidity, you nagging townie. I LEARNED SOMETHING TODAY.

not a happy call

Well, he was getting told that he gets to leave Iowa to go play in the major leagues, so I'm sure he wasn't too upset.

Not sure where he'll fit in Seattle, at least for now. He won't be unseating Cruz as DH, and Seattle has something of a 1B platoon on Dae-Ho Lee and Adam Lind, which has been good for 26 dongs.

Give them Rizzo and finally open up a spot at first for Schwarber?

Would getting something like Mike Montgomery and Nate Karns make sense? A decent left and quality starter. Nothing that lights the world on fire but intriguing names that bolster the staff. Nothing to base this off of, just thinking aloud based on guys on their roster who fit our needs.

Do I get credit for half-calling this?

I really dig this deal, though I think it's a fair trade for both teams. Really feels like Vogelbach and Blackburn were in the system forever and I kinda figured they'd both always be trade bait.

after it was already reported that a deal was made with Seattle? No.

A few pages back, I listed all the guys I'd figured would be available. I looked at Montgomery and didn't even include him, due to how much control the M's had on him. Definitely wouldn't have thought we could get him for what we did.

Theo definitely makes it sound like we'll give Montgomery a shot at starting in the future. I'm more curious as to his current role though. Just a Richard replacement? Or do we use him in some high leverage spots early on to see if he can handle it? I can see either, I guess. I'm HOPING we give him a few chances prior to the deadline and it gives us more leverage than we've already got.

What makes you say that? I don't doubt that he'll be given a chance to stretch out down the line(even if it's a token gesture a la Cahill), but all the quotes I saw didn't make any allusion to him starting. If anything he pointed to Andrew Miller himself as the hopeful outcome for Montgomery.

horsefeathers, I've read and listened to so much.....I don't remember where it was. Maybe its a video though. Seem to remember him saying he's definitely getting used in the pen this year, but they haven't closed the door on him starting in the future. I'll try and search for it in a little while.

Re-reading what you said, its not like he said its a definite he'll be rotation bound or anything though. I did get the vibe he's looking at it like they may have acquired Andrew Miller all over again too, at a stage before he's become elite. I'll search though in a little while.
