If we have the least terrible faction of cubs fans on the internet, I don't want to go to other sites.

Twitter. Cubs Twitter is the darkest place on the internet. It has made me so unbelievably grateful to have this place.

He's a big league pitcher with decent stuff and he's pitching well today. He was a high strikeout guy in the minors, too.

I'm more annoyed that, against three mediocre pitchers in a row, they've all had their one of a handful of good starts they'll have all season.

I dont understand how these strike outs are occurring, I'm completely baffled

if the batter gets 3 strikes on him before 4 balls or putting the ball in play, it's called a "strike out". you can put that in your book as a "K" if the batter was swinging on the 3rd strike, or a backwards K if the batter watched the 3rd strike go by. hope this tutorial helped

Jimmy Nelson's ERA is between Gerrit Cole and Cole Hamels, he is a good pitcher.

Even if they were all terrible, this is baseball, these things happen. Please proceed to get a grip at your earliest convenience.

There's no way Chase Anderson and Junior Guerra both just happen to have breakout games in the same series. It won't last, but the offense is pitiful at the moment.

Okay - this isn't a fullblown meltdown here. I'm allowed to express mild disdain when our offense goes on a three-game slump against three pitchers who combine for league average performance, just like any other user.

Wtf cares, it's baseball. It happens. We've also crushed pitchers like Gerrt Cole, Zach Greinke, Gio Gonzalez, etc. it's 162 game season, I'm not sure how you cannot somehow get some perspective about 3 games in May.

You've long lost the benefit of the doubt, I'm afraid, that's the consequence of persistent doom-mongering.

Fair enough. Doesn't matter much to me either way.

you are more than welcome to, you just sound stupid. It's one thing to lament at being in a slump, its another to act incredulous that this is a possibility.

The offense has scored 2 runs in 4 innings.

2 runs in each of the last 2 games, maybe 2 is all they get today as well.

yep, they probably won't score more than 2 again the rest of the year. It's been 5 whole days since they've scored 8 runs, it'll probably never happen again.

That is the way it feels right now.
