LaStella is a K machine

ok maybe not a machine, but he's struck out more than he was earlier in the year.

I'm more annoyed that, against three mediocre pitchers in a row, they've all had their one of a handful of good starts they'll have all season.

Jimmy Nelson's ERA is between Gerrit Cole and Cole Hamels, he is a good pitcher.

Even if they were all terrible, this is baseball, these things happen. Please proceed to get a grip at your earliest convenience.

Okay - this isn't a fullblown meltdown here. I'm allowed to express mild disdain when our offense goes on a three-game slump against three pitchers who combine for league average performance, just like any other user.

You're (fairly) being judged on your entire miserable body of work. It's like the phrase "get a grip" was literally coined for you.

you are more than welcome to, you just sound stupid. It's one thing to lament at being in a slump, its another to act incredulous that this is a possibility.

Ski, don't let these [expletive] get to you, you have every right to complain when they play like horsefeathers, part of being a fan is caring when they are sucking. We should be destroying the God damn Brewers, and the Padres and the Braves for Christ sake.

I'll just hang out with ski and Rondon Fan, they're my pals

lol, oh yeah, we're all real assholes for understanding that there's ebbs and flows to the game of baseball and that the way they started the season wasn't sustainable. We're all such dummies.

Yes complain all you want, you are more than welcome to. And everyone else will continue to point out how stupid it is to complain about a 4 game offensive slump from a team that is 2nd in the MLB in runs scored and is on pace to win more games than any other team in baseball history.

Vinestal aligning with Ski. All you need to do is add in Rondon Fan for the three-headed monster of zero baseball perspective.

I can't tell if this ump has an abnormally large zone, or if it just feels that way because this Guerra dude has been hitting the corners of the zone consistently all game and it just seems like the zone is large because of all the called strikes.

If the Cubs continue to play shitty baseball, it will happen. You are right. But why you do think they will play shitty baseball for so long that it does happen? Break it down for me, if you get a chance.

The Cubs are in early season slump mode. NSBB is in August 2004 meltdown mode.

But yeah, not clobbering the Brewers with replacement level at best pitchers in 2/3 games, no Braun in 2/3, and no Braun or Lucroy in this one shouldn't happen. Maybe Garet Cole caused some deep emotional bruising with his hateful not the best team in baseball comment. Jerk.

I'm level-headed outside of the games, and I've been trying to pay more attention to positive outcomes this season. A lot of people pretend that emotional indulgence isn't allowed in sports - a field of entertainment designed for emotional indulgence. Sometimes I say really petty, meatbally things (I've been really tempted to post something along the lines of 'You can't convince me that the offense is giving it their best effort lately,') which I agree is very stupid and isn't as acceptable as expressing mild disdain that a good team is struggling against mediocre pitching.

Yes, I know horsefeathers happens. Just like when you stub your toe or get stuck in bad traffic. You're allowed to get irritated during these instances. So long as you don't allow these moments of annoyance to dictate your overall mood, nothing wrong is going on.

I agree. I mean if you can't be a big ol dumb meatball in a game thread I'm not sure why we have them.

Fist bump my friend.
