Having a chance to really think of it now, we are very well covered to cover this injury the most pressure I actually see being on Contreras if/when our aging catchers get dinged up and have to hit the DL.

Oh, worst case scenario? Splendid. I'm never buying a Cubs shirt with a player's name on it again.

He's not dead you know

Tell that Boers and Bernstein. What a couple of tools.

Edit: Ehhhhh nevermind about Lucroy.

So we're either going to be seeing a lot more David Ross or carrying 3 catchers. What fun.

The most annoying thing about this is the people who think that this news means the end of the Cubs chances for the year.

I legitimately thinks it reduces their chances of winning 162 games.

While not comparable because of expectations, this *feels* a lot to me like the 2006 broken wrist injury Derrek Lee got roughly the same time into the season. Just a huge gutshot for a dude expected to have a huge year.

This team will endure this, probably better than any other team in the league, but this sucks.

If by annoying you mean hilarious, then yes.

Honestly I think the Cubs are going to be fine. Personally I just really like watching Schwarber hit and will miss it greatly.

Yeah it's a tough blow because those postseason memories are so fresh it sucks that he won't be part of this team.

Corey Patterson tore his ACL in July 2003 and was ready for Spring Training in 2004. Bold prediction: Kyle heals faster than expected, makes the league his bitch for the last two weeks of September and carries us to a WS win. Four WS wins. 4 of them.

Not sure if you are kidding but there is 0% chance he's back this year. I don't care if he's running marathons in September they won't bring him back.
