Can someone give a brief explanation of the post above? What's going on in right field? Bullpen?

They're moving the bullpens under the bleachers on both sides of the stadium.

Posted
as for that wall, i'm guessing it's just being rebuilt...and further down the line moved to accommodate the new seats in the bullpen area.

Are they replacing the old Under Armour doors (or whatever brand they are now) with the bullpen access? Will the pitchers in the pen be able to see the field?

Doesn't appear so.

No more games of "chicken" by the relievers. :bye:

I'll never forget the first time I noticed it. It was a game against the Reds. I was watching with my oldest son. Travis Wood was sitting in a folding chair. A hard liner went down the third base line. Wood never flinched as the ball went right between his feet. We couldn't believe what we had seen. A week later, Chad Noble was interviewed about their game and it all became clear.

Even though I'm sure fans down the right field line rode them pretty good, some guys on the visiting teams are going to miss those bullpens, too.

The relievers aren't going to be able to see the field at all? That seems strange. Will Wrigley be the only ballpark in MLB that has their pen completely removed?

I know there's some, but I can't say specifically where.

I'm almost positive they are putting see through gates on the bullpens. The fact that they wanted to enlarge the openings for this also was a point of contention for the city as the wall is landmarked.

My friend works for some fancy furniture company in California. He said that the Cubs have requested mock ups for some new clubhouse furniture. Maybe the old stuff took to much of a beating what with all the celebrations in there this past month or so.

I kinda like the idea of the bullpens not being able to see the field, when the benches clear maybe we'd have a pseudo WWE boiler room type match in there

Could be for the visitors clubhouse? Or is that not until next offseason.

I'm going to be in the Chicago area tomorrow night- Thursday for training. I was hoping to be able to swing by Wrigleyville while I'm up, but I've never actually driven there, since we always take the redline in. Is there parking available in the area? I'd imagine it's not overly busy this time of year. Any tips?

Book a spot somewhere on the Spothero app.

Don't think that is even necessary. Shouldn't be hard to find street parking mid week during the offseason.

I was just there on Friday. Parking is not an issue. Lots of spots available on the street just a couple blocks away from the marquee.

Shake Shack may be based in New York, but it clearly has a soft spot for the Chicago Cubs.

The burger and custard chain will open another Chicago-area restaurant in a new Wrigleyville development that's being built just south of Wrigley Field. The Addison & Clark development is set to be completed in mid-2018 and Shake Shack is expected to move in in 2019.

I have heard of Shake Shack, but I don't know a thing about it. I keep picturing it as equivalent to Steak & Shake, in which case I don't know why this would be news.

People swear by it. It's not bad but seems fairly expensive for the size burger you get. The shakes are pretty good.

Steak n Shake, with cleaner, cooler-looking restaurants and better service, with worse food, on a coast.

Steak n Shake food isn't all that great, IMO...so this doesn't fill me with excitement.
