To be fair, that McDonalds was a decent place to get some drunk food after a game while waiting for the Red Line to clear up

Walk, like, literally two-three blocks in any direction from the stadium and go anywhere else, you lazy humps.

Can view live construction right now: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/illinois/chicago/wrigleyfield/?cam=wrigleyfield_hd

looks like the Toyota signs will go right above and below the marquee

The Toyota sign was already in place last year. I'm pretty sure the one they put up top was temporary while the marquee was taken down so that they wouldn't lose their visibility while the marquee was down.

Since I'm stealing stuff from reddit today...if you're interested in watching the marquee go back up, live cam here...

I have this on in a background tab, and the sound of the water on the street is putting me to sleep (despite the Van Halen in the background).

You may already realize this, but the player has a separate volume control if you hover your mouse over it.

Well then I'll misinterpret your tone more often.

i just hope they don't put those ugly banners up over the beautiful shiny new facade.

i know they put them up by gate D in right, and that's fine since that part of the park is still ugly.

not entirely sure what to make of this but i'm thinking the marquee is going to be double sided with the old look being visible to the people in the marquee restaurant/bar

The Chicago Cubs are receiving some major league backing for their request to begin shutting Addison and Clark Streets for large portions of game days.

In a pair of interviews, Mike Quigley, the Democratic U.S. congressman who represents the Wrigley district and serves the House Intelligence Committee, said that security concerns in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels mean that both the ballpark and its Lake View neighbors are going to have to live in "a new world," like it or not.

That means that, starting almost immediately—the Cubs home opener is this upcoming Monday, April 11— both Addison and Clark should be closed to all but bus traffic for two hours before all games and two hours afterwards, Quigley said.

But soon thereafter, the ban on auto traffic even from those who live in the neighborhood should extend through games, too, Quigley said. That would mean roughly 6-hour closures for the congested area, roughly 80 times a year.

"The community understandably objects," said Quigley, who lived for 20 years within a mile of the ballpark and now resides at Diversey and Southport. "(But) I didn't create this threat."

Meanwhile, the state is unveiling their $7.3m video board for the White Sox.

But no the Cubs cant get any help for renovations or close the streets or sell beer past 9,etc.

the semi-permanent structures they're putting up outside the gate for the metal detectors are one hell of an eyesore. i had hoped they could keep that stuff inside.

Man, I thought you were exaggerating. That's awful.
