AJ Green - 6'4" 210

Jorge Soler - 6'4" 215

Russell Westbrook- 6'3" 210

Yes, these guys are elite athletes, but I wouldn't call any of them skinny, much less "ridiculously" skinny

And they all (well, Green not so much in the upper body, but I think 210 might be generous there) have pretty muscular and lean builds. Muscle weighing more than fat, I can't see how someone with less muscle at that same weight would be considered "ridiculously" skinny

Kind of a pointless argument but w/e

6'4" 210 isn't ridiculously skinny. I work with a guy who is 6'3" 170

6'4' 205-210 is very skinny for a human who has participated in any type of physical activity related to sports.

Michael Phelps is 6'4", 195 and I wouldn't call him "ridiculously skinny"

Oh, Derwood.

Wow, I love reading more gems over at WSI

From "Cub Killer"

The fact is that only death and taxes are inevitable in life. A flub title is not, the drought may go on forever. Accept that, flubbers.

The cubs have the #1 NL seed, but that actually DECREASES their odds to win it all. Lower seeds actually have a better chance. Which further shows that reg season record doesn't mean much.

The last NL1 to win it all was the D-backs in 2001. And they're the only NL1 to win it all since seeding became earned.

03 NL4

06 NL3

08 NL2

10 NL2

11 NL4

12 NL3

14 NL5

WC teams have won it all more times. Those 103 wins mean nothing now. HFA isn't really an advantage. 109 is looming, flubbers...

When people post things like that, I am not sure if they actually believe that the Cubs chances actually lowered because they have the top seed.

Seriously. I'm actually fat now, but back when I was a ridiculously skinny 205-210 pounds, at 6'4", BMI had me as overweight. That's the last time I paid attention to that number.

Back when I was wrestling in college, I was 6'1 and 141 pounds. THAT is ridiculously skinny. Hell, when I was a freshman in high school I was the same height and weighed 119. I think wrestling counts as a sport.

Ha, I was almost always the tallest at my weight class. You were ridiculously skinny.

I was 145 in 8th grade and probably about 5'10".

My first reaction is that the weights and definitely the heights are probably not very accurate.

This is also true.

6'2" 123 was my lowest. As a freshman in HS. Crohn's.

I can't even blame it on a malady. If evidence is needed, I have some. I debated if putting this link here is too off-topic or too braggy/pathetic, but the video quality was overly awesome, and Kevin frickin Jackson was talking about how slicktastic I was, so I can't resist: [bbvideo=560,315]

I thought I was a twig at 5'9" 119. I tried to get down to 112, but couldn't lose enough. Ended up wrestling 125 because of lack of competition (at my school).

I noticed this on Javy's thumb during his slow motion replay trot around the bases, and I saw it on someone else's thumb too today. What are these things? I never noticed them before.

I think they help take the "sting" out of balls not squared up

Makes sense, but I feel like I just started noticing them in the playoffs. Have these been around for awhile now?

Yeah, quite a while. And now that you've noticed it, I'm sure you'll find quite a few other guys wearing them.

I feel like Sosa wore one.

the Real Sports segment on home plate umpires was pretty good. their opposing view was from Jerry Crawford, long-time umpire. I know umps are far from perfect, but I was surprised how often they are wrong. it was like 32% on the borders and roughly translates to 30,000 wrong calls per season

plus I've never seen the pitch fx setup so that was pretty cool

and they had Eric Byrnes play home plate ump where the calls were being fed to him

I'm with Derwood here. Guy I work with is 6'4" without much muscle tone and he likes to stay around 195-200. He's far from looking gangly or anything. Not that 210 is fat or anything, but based on that anecdote, unless you have some decent muscle on you, 210 is probably a smidge overweight. Definitely not ridiculously skinny.

Gotta say... it's a little bit weird that you know your co-worker's preferred weight range.

we're good friends (at least as far as coworkers go). we talk about all kinds of horsefeathers.

also we had a weight loss competition type thing once with a bunch of us.

Okok that's different.

All I could think of was:

"Hey welcome to the team! I'm David. Btw... what do you weigh?"
