My friend who's a Cardinals fan keeps bringing up that we are due for a ton of sophomore slumps. I realize they happen but quit acting like we won't contend and our whole line up will constantly struggle.

I feel like Bryant went through ups and downs already and Schwarber bounced back in the playoffs. Soler got better late in the year and Addison's D will never struggle.

Right now I'm pissed at pretty much every single member of this Cubs team.

I love this team. The dice fell the wrong way in the NLCS, but that was after a fun season.

We'll see next year how the team copes with our higher expectations.

So who had the best series? I think it may have been Castro... What a bounce back it was for him this season after losing his starting job.

Castro just lined a ball 110 mph right at a defender while you were typing this.

I doubt it changes the outcome, but it would have been nice to get him one more playoff start over that POS we threw out there last night.

I thought Jason Hammel would step up and be decent in the playoffs, or at least able to go 5 innings and keep the team in the game. To think we probably would have been better off with Dan Haren starting.

He was certainly the guy I felt most confident in putting the ball in play with at least some authority, if/when that was the biggest need.

I was staring down the LF line when he hit that and literally jumped out of my seat. That was a base-clearer. He looked great in the playoffs.

That hit was pretty representative of the entire series. Mets play a guy at 3B with no spine and he makes an amazing play on a potential bases clearing 2B going 300 mph.

I felt pretty confident in Soler each AB, but Castro had a pretty big defensive edge, so I'd say he was the all around best performer this series.

I posted in last night, but as at work and literally fell backwards out of my chair starting to cheer when the ball left the bat. I was convinced for that split-second they were going to be right back in the game. That moment was easily the most spirit-crushing for me by far.

Then the added cherry later of him just barely missing the home run to LF.

I'm still hoping they find a trade partner for Castro because I'm pure evil

There is no good way to end the season except for winning the WS, but this series was about as bad as it gets.

Their weaknesses were exposed in the worst way.

Literally every other ending in my lifetime was worse.

Unfortunately, until the Cubs get some random player that plays out of his ass for the playoffs, this [expletive] is going to happen.

Like Schwarber?

Schwarber hit .143 in this series. Murphy hit .529

throw aside the notion of judging via AVG, Schwarber also is not some random player.

No kidding. Schwarber has demolished the ball at every level. He may be new, but he ain't random.
